25.01.2022 Oh Dear! ... Thanks to Sue Ralph I've just found out my website www.aforasthma.com.au appears to indicate that only the e-book version of my book is available. Actually the paperback version is also on sale through my website for $9.95 and can be obtained by pressing 'Buy Now'. My apologies to anyone who wanted the paperback version and thought it was unavailable.
25.01.2022 A reader of my book has asked if I would tell mothers what dosages Michelle gave her son when he was 2 years old. I should have mentioned it in the book. I suggested to Michelle to follow Lady Cilento's advice and give him 2,500 i.u. of vitamin A plus 50 to 100 i.u. of vit. E and a quarter teaspoon vit. C powder per day.
24.01.2022 Theres been an amazing reduction in the incidence of asthma in Australian children. The latest rate aged 0-15 is now 9.9% (from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 2012) This is a phenomenal improvement! Prior to year 2,000, this rate was consistently 20% and in some states 25% of all children. Therefore 9.9% equals a halving of asthma in children over about 10 years. Why have we not been told the reason for this? I mean these things dont just happen! I like to think the first and second editions of my book have had something to do with this reduction.
24.01.2022 I do hope asthma sufferers havent been turned off vitamin A by the mention of the syndrome DISH. Dont forget no one can even SURVIVE without vitamin A, so we shouldnt allow ourselves to become fearful of it. Keep in mind Janet who suffers DISH was only 10 when she started the high doses of A and D and took them for 7 years to save her EYESIGHT . (I suspect the high vit. D would have contributed a lot to her skeletal problems.) Children with ASTHMA respond to very LOW doses of A and E and often can give these capsules up after a couple of years as their health improves. Even some adults, such as Janine in my book, could control her asthma after a while by just eating more vitamin A foods. Other adults like myself have used varying amounts of A and E for many many years and suffered no side effects whatsoever.
24.01.2022 Hi everyone.. Ive been doing some more thinking about my theory that the halving of asthma rates in children is due to the addition of vitamin A to margarine around 1990. The reduced asthma rate in children wouldnt just be due to toddlers getting more vitamin A from margarine, the mothers would also get extra vitamin A, which could increase the level in their child during pregnancy. Also there would be extra vitamin A in the breastmilk. The baby therefore would be getting more of this nutrient commencing from his days in the womb. Perhaps these small doses throughout the childs very early life, can give protection from asthma right up to primary school and beyond.

23.01.2022 Just stumbled again across some Dec 2013 research which claimed 'Vitamin pills offer no benefits'. The article stated 'our diet is completely adequate'. Well I've just heard a friend tell of a recent expedition by some guys she knows, who sailed from Sydney to the Whitsundays and back again. All arrived home to Sydney suffering from scurvy!!! There's obviously a lot of ignorance about what makes up a healthy diet in Australia.
23.01.2022 Oh Gosh. Im awfully sorry ..... Ive just been reading over some old posts and couldnt believe on Feb. 8th, 2013, I wrote that a naturopath had told me that when she first began practising, she was allowed to prescribe 100,000 i.u. capsules of vitamin A. What she really said was 50,000 i.u. of vitamin A. How that mistake happened I have no idea. The only excuse Ive got is I was probably still getting over the shock of my husbands death. Sorry, once more.

22.01.2022 On 'Four Corners' last night, Professor Paul Glasziou from Bond University, said research had shown that antioxidants like beta-carotene, had been found to increase cancer not decrease it. I wrote about that research in the abridged edition of my book called 'Asthma Less Attacks, No Attacks' in 2014. The results of this study went around the world, but it was discredited when Dr. Isabelle Bairati from Quebec Research Centre, advised in 2008 that she 'got it wrong!!' After revising the data, it was found the only patients whose cancer returned while taking beta-carotene and vitamin A, were smokers who refused to give up smoking while having radiation and chemotherapy. Why do we see so much dodgy research repeated over and over again ?? And why does vitamin A seem to attract more dodgy research than any other vitamin??

21.01.2022 Are we supposed to take that TV programme The Checkout seriously? I hope not, because during the couple of times Ive caught the end of it, Ive been shocked to hear them blasting away at all kinds of natural health treatments and supplements. This is in spite of news stories, which you probably heard in October 2016, of a 14 year old boy whod been taken to see ophthalmologists and paediatricians, to try to identify the cause of his encroaching blindness. He eventually fo...und Sydney Ophthalmologist Stephanie Watson, who told him he was suffering from a vitamin A deficiency. After heavy doses of vitamin A his sight improved a lot, but there will always be some damage. Professor Watson told of another young boy who lost most of his sight permanently from a diet of mainly hot chips and nuggets. These children did not look malnourished, and that was why so many specialists failed to suspect that diet could be the problem. However they were very deficient in vitamin A. See more

20.01.2022 The latest research from the UK which appeared on channel 7 news on 4th October, claims that vitamin D deficiency is a big factor in asthma. I simply cannot believe this research. When I was rearing my children in Brisbane during the 1960s and 70s, nearly all the kids in Queensland ran around the beaches wearing nothing but skimpy bikinis and speedos. Yet Queensland, and particularly Brisbane at that time, was named one of the Asthma Capitals of the World!! The asthma rate in children was about 24%. Queensland is not called the Sunshine State for nothing !!..... Surely very few of those children could have had a vitamin D deficiency! Interestingly, the rate of childhood asthma in Tasmania, was only 16%.
20.01.2022 Did I tell you Ive been doing some heavy investigation into why the asthma rate has halved in Australian children? Well Im starting to believe it could have had something to do with the addition of vitamin A to margarine in 1987. Adding this small amount of vitamin A to the diet of tiny children could be enough to prevent asthma from developing in the first place. Europe and other developed countries added vitamin A to their margarine during the Second world war.

17.01.2022 I've received a copy of the new edition of my book which is called a bookazine as it has lots of commercial type photographs in it. It will be sold by Australian newsagents fairly soon. The amazing thing is that around Christmas time, it will also be sold in America, Canada and England.. The Kindle version of my previous edition has been receiving 5 star reviews. The latest reviewer from Mitchigan USA wrote to me and said she thinks the book will eventually influence asthma world-wide, but will take many years. (I'm just hoping I last long enough to see it! ha! ha! )

15.01.2022 Its to be hoped young parents saw the ABC 7.30 Report early last week which featured children suffering horrible side effects such as psychosis and depression from taking the asthma medication Singulair. Weve heard scary stories of this drug before. The negative effects are probably more widespread than we know.

15.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I stumbled across a US National Library of Medicine website www.nibi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed which contained research by the Italian university in Chieti. Dr. G. Riccioni et al claim that nutrition in the form of antioxidants A,C and E 'may reduce oxidative stress and prevent or minimize asthmatic symptoms ' This is the first time I've actually seen it spelt out that vitamins A,C and E may prevent asthma!!!
15.01.2022 I am getting so frustrated from trying to get vitamin A (and E) accepted as a treatment for asthma. When I hear ear nose and throat specialist say they are being warned the whole time about vitamin A, I realize it is going to take a major miracle for this treatment to be widely accepted. But then, I've experienced a few miracles along the way with this idea, so maybe I should not give up hope.

14.01.2022 It certainly was wonderful to learn of vitamin D and flaxseed oil reversing multiple sclerosis in Prof. George Jelinek, Melbourne Uni., Linda Bloom, psychologist, St. Kilda Melbourne and Prof. Michelle O'Donoghue, Harvard Medical School and many others. I had heard rumours that vit. D could help multiple sclerosis, but this is the first time, someone like Prof. Jelinek has actually publicised his case history. He also recommends a seafood diet plus fresh fruit and vegetables. Sufferers of MS must be over the moon!! It's so fantastic to hear such a good news story about vitamins and diet. (From GoodWeekend, SMH a few weeks ago!)
13.01.2022 According to ch.7 on 16th Sept. 1 in 5 people suffer from hay-fever in Australia. A new drug is being tested that will earn billions of dollars for it's manufacturer. Small doses of vitamins A and E cured my hay-ever almost immediately because vitamin A continually renews the linings of the nasal passages.(from Lady Cilento's book) It is wonderful for hay-fever. Every one should be told how easy hay-fever is to control with no side-effects. Vitamins A and E have helped numerous people control their asthma, but we forget these vitamins also control hay-fever.
12.01.2022 Hi everyone.... Just returned from Christmas holiday at the Gold Coast. Had to travel to Brisbane for one day and was astonished to see that the massive new children's hospital built near the Mater has been named 'The Lady Cilento Children's Hospital'. I believe it is the premier hospital for children from all over Queensland. What an honour for her ..... I'm sure she would have been delighted, although no doubt would have found It hard to believe, considering the rejection she suffered from many doctors when she was alive.

10.01.2022 Just writing to let you all know I have been doing some work on a new edition of my book which my publisher says will be sold in newsagents here and America (I'm finding it hard to believe the America bit!) Anyway, it is mainly just my story plus a new chapter about my theory on why the asthma rate in children has halved in the last 10 years.

07.01.2022 Last April my brother visited me for a short time. He is 73 and very healthy even though he has smoked for 55 years. He always had a slight smoker's cough however but I was shocked at the horrific cough he had developed. It was so severe he could barely catch his breath and I honestly thought he would not survive. I looked up 'emphysema' in Lady Cilento's book and suggested he try high doses of vitamin E, along with vitamin A. I was amazed when he said he would try it. ...He took 1000 i.u. of vitamin E and 25,000 i.u. of A. I didn't think it would work as he refused to take any more vitamin A. Well, in three days that cough just disappeared. When I went up to Brisbane to see him in July, I asked him how the cough was going. He said he had only had one coughing attack since April. He is still doing well. That is the most amazing improvement I have ever known. !!! See more
07.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I just want to share this wonderful email I received from Bronwen last week. Hi Marion, I contacted you about 18 months ago to let you know that I'd found your book and was going to try it out.... I'd had asthma for almost 20 years, and was to the point of relying on two different inhalers at least twice per day. I felt as though it was getting worse all the time, I'd had chronic pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, and all in my 20s! Last year I discovered your book (I was 35) at a LifeLine Book fair. Anyway, I tried your method out and within a couple of months I threw away my inhalers and haven't used them since. Even when I get sick, I don't need the inhalers anymore, and I don't use Vitamin A very often anymore either, only if I feel my breathing start to tighten, which has happened maybe twice in a year. When I started your regimen, I was very unwell - and for no apparent reason. It had gotten to the point that I was constantly anxious feeling (adrenal fatigue), and had even developed a heart condition that had me on beta-blockers, and the doctors were talking about putting me on blood thinners, along with my inhaler dependency - things were looking grim. So, desperate for help, I also went to see a natural therapist at the same time, and for me it was a combination of Candida overgrowth, immune deficiency as well as the Vit A deficiency. So, we got my immune system back up and running by reducing the Candida, taking pro-biotics for gut health, and that along with taking the Vit A combo worked a treat! I feel like a new woman! I'm not on any medications at all now. Thank you so much for publishing your findings, and sticking with it even when people probably didn't believe you. I don't care if they believe me or not, I am just happy to feel well and be off inhalers, beta blockers, and all the other things that were coming my way. Best regards, Bronwen
07.01.2022 I was trying to buy some vitamin A from Chemist Warehouse but they had none of any brand in stock. If anyone is having problem purchasing vitamin A, you can usually find it on the website iHerb. I'm currently taking their Now brand of vitamin A with capsules containing 25,000 i.u. I think they come from America but they don't take long to arrive.
06.01.2022 Sue Ralph Have been taking 10,000 iu of vitamin A & 200 mg vitamin E for a week & have lost all my asthma symptoms....I can't believe it. 15 years of Ventolin.... & Symbicort twice daily & I have had none for a week! Will keep you posted on my progress. Many thanks to my sister in law, Kerry for giving me this book. Cheers from Sue Ralph Like March 10 at 8:58amHi there ..... Here is an email from Sue Ralph
05.01.2022 In answer to your questions, I believe that vitamin A works for asthma because it is needed to maintain the adrenal glands which produce adrenaline and cortisone. It also renews the linings of the lungs and gastro-intestinal tract. Vitamin E is required to prevent the A from oxidizing.
04.01.2022 Hi everyone, It's always difficult to know just how much vitamins A and E a person with asthma might need. As you will notice on page 80 of my book, my requirements seem to go up and down a bit. At the moment though, at age 70, I feel I need 90,000 i.u. of A and 1000 i.u. of E to achieve excellent results. This seems high but I was speaking to a naturapath and she said when she first started out, she was allowed to prescribe 100,000 i.u. capsules, then it was... reduced to 50,000 i.u.caps, then 20,000i.u. and down to the current 5,000 i.u. capsules which is all that is allowed in Australia. Speaking of vitamin E, a chemist told me that vitamin E capsules should increase with the person's age. He said 10 yr olds need 100 i.u., 20 yr olds 200 i.u., 30 year olds 300 i.u. 40 year olds 400 i.u, 50 year olds 500 i.u. etc. Lady Cilento's advice to Marie on page 35 reflects the same idea. I'm beginning to think vitamin A might be rather similar. From what I've noticed in my own case and observing others, it seem vitamin A roughly follows a similar table to vitamin E. (I am not qualified, this is just my opinion) 10,000 i.u. per day for 10 year olds 20,000 i.u. per day for 20 year olds 30,000 i.u. " " for 30 year olds 40,000 i.u. " " for 40 year old 50,000 i.u. " " for 50 year olds etc. This would be a very rough guide anyway. See more

03.01.2022 I just went into an asthma group where young mothers were talking about the shocking side-effects their children were experiencing from Singulair They included all kinds of mental problems. When these children were taken off the drug, their recovery was amazing. I do wish I could get my vitamin A and E message out more forcefully to all young mothers.

01.01.2022 Apart from children who were born with underdeveloped lungs, I have never heard of an asthmatic child who didn't respond beautifully to ridiculously low doses of vitamins A and E. It is CRIMINAL that vested interests are trying to frighten children off vitamin A !! Medication must always be on hand though, because even though years may elapse between attacks, asthma can still occur and asthmatics must be prepared. Please avoid Singulair/Montelukast as it has been found to cause suicidal thoughts in children.
