18.01.2022 African Voice is excited to announce that Fiona Prowse (World and Australasian Debating Champion), Michael Macklin (Southern African and WUPID Champion) and Lucia Pietropaoli (Australasian Grand Finalist) will be running training at the Madiba Open in Port Elizabeth (April 30-May 4) and for high school students in Zimbabwe with the Contemporary Affairs Foundation (May 5-8). 11.01.2022 In 2015, African Voice will be launching the world's first massive open online course (MOOC) for debating - Big Voice. Big Voice is a free course targeted at debaters who are looking to develop their argument and case construction skills and ability to use first principles in debates. Keep an eye on this page for further updates - the course will be launched by mid year. We have a number of training programs planned for 2015, including workshops in Cameroon and Ghana. We have now released the final lesson, which summarises what we covered and provides some tips, resources and exercises to help you improve your debating in your own time. Since we launched in October, Big Voice has been accessed by over 1100 people from 81 countries. We are grateful to all of our participants, to our 10 amazing trainers that have spent countless hours reviewing student work and to the ...debaters from around the world that helped us develop the content for this course over the past 12 months. We hope this is the first step to giving everyone access to high quality debating training. For those of you enrolled in the course, please check your email for a final message from us. 09.01.2022 Hi everyone! We are excited to announce the launch of Big Voice - the world's first free online course for debating. Big Voice is for beginner debaters from around the world. It covers everything you need to know to excel in debating, from building strong cases to making powerful arguments to understanding the Big Ideas in debates about ethics, individual freedom, international relations and economics and development.... Big Voice was created by top competitive debaters and features tutorials from three World Universities Debating Champions - Victor Finkel, Nita Rao and Kiran Iyer. Each lesson is divided into a series of videos, with fun exercises after each video and tips on how to take your debating to the next level. There are also assessments to track your progress and the opportunity to receive ongoing feedback from an experienced trainer. All you need is an Internet connection! Big Voice is free but we have a strictly limited number of spots in the Big Voice Academy, which gives you access to personalised feedback from a trainer.
