14.01.2022 Small gestures of KINDNESS can change the world! All living creatures should be respected and need our protection. . We couldn't believe it when we found this old turtle on Cocos Islands that was too exhausted to make its way back to the water. The low tide made it stranded at the beach, impossible for her to get back on time.... When Ricardo saw her, he knew that there was only one way to help - by pushing her, pouring water on top of her to keep her cool and by providing shade to rest. It took a total of 3 hours to get the turtle back into the ocean . Without Ricardos help she most likely would have died. . Surrounded by nature. . The tree hangs precariously on the edge of the bank. The roots reach out to keep a hold of the diminishing earth that hold it in place. Very reminiscent of where we are at in relation to the planet we live on and the fate of all its inhabitants. . The world has already lost the Tasmanian tiger. 01.01.2022 Staring at one of the largest man made lakes in the Southern Hemisphere this photo doesn’t even do it justice That dam wall you can see in the photo was built in the 1970’s to create the most voluminous artificial lake in Australia. There is such an abundance of birds, fish, freshie crocodiles and other species - this lake and the surroundings are gorgeous! Last stop before heading over to the NT border! Nobody could figure out our aircon situation but mechanics thin...k it could be because the engine is running hot as it is reconditioned - hopefully it fixes itself in the next couple of 1000km!
