14.01.2022 The Thread Foundation is one of our collaborators who are supporting many families in Ntonso- Ghana, providing food during the Lockdown period. Many people have lost their jobs and businesses that brings money and food to their homes and with the sever lockdown the Ghana Government have imposed, this has caused a massive case of people going without food and power due to no money to buy basic human essentials. The Government's lockdown is causing hunger and poor health con...ditions to individuals leading to exruciating human damage. The Government is not giving the level of support that we here in Australia are previledged to receive. We urge you please to help David (Director of the foundation) with donations, who is trying to feed his students and their families. We need to support eachother. I have personally known David as a friend and collaborator for 10 years and the love he has for the children in his community and his culture is true and genuine and his foundation is a reflection of his character. Your money is going directly to buying food for families. See more
10.01.2022 Here is a thank you video message from David Boamah from one of our collaborative partners Thread Foundation Ghanaian NGO based in Ntonso. We are raising money through some of our products to help families with food items during these challenging COVID Lockdown times. The lockdown has affected many families throughout Ghana due to no work available and businesses closing down. Many families rely on a daily basis for income for basic food, utility bills and schooling. The Gov...ernment does not assist in the same way as countries like Australia so people are having extremely difficult times in surviving. So we are trying to help out where we can. We stock Adinkra T-shirts and handwoven wallets that are handmade by artists from The Thread Foundation and all monies from sales of these items are going directly to this cause. The food items David buys are items that last a long time or deemed expensive for families to buy for themselves and can be used for bartering for other food items from neighbours. So far we have raised $111. A big thank you to Eric, Meagan Otu and Miriam Abud who have bought our t-shirts and wallets so far. Please we still have more items available if you are available to support this cause. Afro Creative Corner do not keep any money from these sales apart from paying for the transfer money fee, which is very minimal. Inbox us if you are keen to buy an item and support our cause. We are all in this together.
