21.01.2022 Supporters, please deliver the following supplies to AMSSA Centre on 91-101 Boundary Rd North Melbourne. They will be open until 11pm tonight, Sunday 5 July, facilitated by community members, delivering essentials to residents. All that’s required is to shop then drop off items. ITEMS NEEDED: - PPE equipment (masks, gloves, sanitisers) - Fresh food and vegetables, other uncooked food items.... - Baby products (nappies, wipes, formula, baby food) - Sanitary pads - Medication (nurofen, Panadol, ventolin, etc. common over-the-counter items) - Toilet paper *not specified from residents, but I highly recommend buying halal food and keep in mind a range of diets* *also goes without saying follow all precautions with hand washing/sanitisation, PPE and social distancing so that you are not causing a further risk to residents and volunteers, and are protected yourself.* I’m sure we will receive updates on delivery spots in coming days and I’ll aim to keep this post updated. ANYONE WHO CAN ASSIST WITH FERRYING SUPPLIES BETWEEN LOCATIONS ALSO ASKED TO SUPPORT See more

19.01.2022 Find Below the letter circulating from Victorian Multicultural Commission. The numbers are there reach out all day/all night for your needs that are not being met. This should be managed by health not police. At bare minimum residence deserved notice!!! ---------------------------------------- Dear community leaders, faith leaders and community representatives... Thank you to everyone who has reached out in support this afternoon following the announcements by the Premier. The announcements in relation to immediate restrictions placed on housing estates across inner Melbourne has seen many offers of support for the people/residents and communities living in the estates. https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/statement-from-the-premier-/. Many community representatives have contacted the VMC and expressed their concern and willingness to assist. Your offers of support are very well received. There are many considerations on the ground that are being worked through by the relevant departments including the most effective ways to support residents both remotely and potentially on site, while working with all of the service providers. The VMC is working across the government departments to ensure residents, particularly residents from multicultural backgrounds are supported. This will be a sustained effort over the coming days and possibly weeks, and your support is very much needed. Please let us know if you are interested in assisting [email protected] or contact John Kouvelas Strategic Engagement Manager 0417 995 955 [email protected] or Hakan Akyol Director 0412 265 860 [email protected] A further message will be distributed later this evening with the key government messages around the new restrictions. 08.01.2022 Tell us again how different Australia is? One too many!!!!

07.01.2022 Dear People......

07.01.2022 Victorians you deserve better! We have organisations in Victoria that are tax payer funded for "social cohesion", "diversity", "equality" and so on. They have failed their performance appraisal and remained silent on black lives matter. We pay for them to at least pretend to care but even that has been too much. You cannot ignore an issue that affects the very group you were set up to serve. Multiculturalism has to extend beyond food and dance. Do better, bringing a plate ...on harmony day hasn't cut the mustard @multiculturevic @centre.for.multicultural.youth @mavartsau We also see the silence in women centric organisations that have been trying to tell black womxn to join their feminists cause, because we are in it together right? Guess what some womxn are black. We cannot stand for you if you cant stand for us now.@womenvictoria There are also many diversity officers in your local city councils. Oh and the multicultural minister Ros Spence, your absence says it all. To the man in the top job in the state lead your people to equity @danielandrewsmp Folks write your letters, comment on socials, give them calls ask for change, vote accordingly. Otherwise you are funding very expensive pen pushers.

06.01.2022 Please tag all your favourite bla(c)k accountants that run their own business. Tax time is coming...

06.01.2022 Folks, there is a Victorian African Community plan that has been endorsed by community members. You should have a look at it and speak your mind. This is for you make sure it reflects you. We have to lean in demand to be counted and ask for accountability from our representatives. It is our civic right. 05.01.2022 Where are all our leaders???????

01.01.2022 Dear Bla(c)k musicians and allies, How are the festivals, venues, bookers, managers, labels etc you have worked with contributing to the BLM movement. How have those that benefit from sprinkling "urban" doing when it comes standing with community now. Call their silence if you can or just remember their actions when restrictions lift. Global BLM movement is a perfect to demand the overdue equality we deserve!
