24.01.2022 Thank you to all my valued clients for another eventful year. This year marks the end of my 5th year in with AFX Massage and feeling a little chuffed ive made it this far, I wouldn't be here with out you guys so i hope you enjoyed your time with me at AFX. Christmas time is the only real holiday i take off every year and I find it a great time to relax and reflect of the past 12 months. There are alot of things happening around Christmas so i hope you all get a chance to be w...ith loved ones and take some time to unwind. I will be back in action from the 3rd of Jan. 22.01.2022 Hey guys, check out my mini lesson #9 SHOULDER DELTOID PAIN Objective is to release the Deltoid group of muscles. This group of tissue is responsible for active movement of the arms true work horse for the upper body ... Problems in the shoulder are diverse and often difficult to explain but majority of the time poor posture + overuse = sore shoulders. Deltoids being a varied and overly mobile joint leave them susceptible to strain, tears, inflammation and general trigger point pain. Although many problems wont be solved with this kind of release its best to keep it under control and prevent it becoming a problem. Its quite simple...just dont over do it. Take care of them and they'll take of you. 1 - Get a ball into the Deltoid region 2 - Work slow in your release, BREATHE! 3 - Add movement to your technique 3 - Feel good! Let me know What You think? 18.01.2022 Hi ladies and gents, As of today AFX Massage will be closed for the forseeable future. This comes as all gyms have to close, and as a vendor inside goodlife health club, i do too. ... I have viewed all government regulations and fulfilled associations requests in regards to efficacy of offering massage services, and at this point of time with vigerous hygiene and a stringent checklist, I am still able to practice. There will opportunities for appointments at my home clinic. I will keep you all up to date with what happens with AFX in the coming weeks. Stay well, and good luck to all through these trying times. 16.01.2022 Hey guys, check out my mini lesson #5 QUADRICEPS AND IT BANDS *ouch* Objective is to mobilise and loosen the muscles in the 5 bellies of the quad also getting that IT band on the out part of the leg to be rolled out These muscles get tight because of weakness in the glute/hip. They become over used because of dysfunctional hip to thoracic systems. ... Symptoms can be outer knee pain as well as pain on the knee cap and upper shin Also issues in buckling knees and flat feet. The quads are one of the most important muscles in the body to release because of their over dominance (noone likes a bossy boots) SO GET TO IT TODAY! 1 - Get your roller/ball in the quad region 2 - Work slow in your release, breathe! 3 - Add movement to your technique 3 - Feel good! 15.01.2022 Hey guys, check out my mini lesson #1 Super simple foot release. Objective is to mobilise the joints in the foot to get you connected to the ground! Your toes are so important for keeping you balanced on the ground. Bad foot wear and lack of movement cause instability, bad range of motion and pain. 15.01.2022 What the foot? Im basically saying that normal training shoes and most other daily use shoes are ruining your feet and you should just walk around like a monkey bare foot and free. But society doesnt like it so we do it to keep "them" happy. Healthy feet are important to keep the body functioning well ... PLEASE SHARE! These muscles get tight because of weakness in the glute/hip region Most of the time stretching of these tissues come with minimal reward as most of the issues here come from Up or down the leg Symptoms can be referal pain just below the glute crease and behind the knee or even along the muscle fibre.... 1 - Get your massage ball into the hamstring. 2 - Work slow in your release, breathe! 3 - Add movement to your technique 3 - Feel good! 06.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT PLEASE READ! Ladies and gents, It is time for AFX to open its doors once again! As of Tuesday the 16th of June I will resume trading. Exciting news as AFX has also gone paperless! All associated forms will be completed online at home, so no more waiting in clinic filling in paperwork.... There will be some new rules for me as a therapist coming back to work during COVID-19. As a requirement to operate, all clients will be required to wait outside of the clinic and be escorted in by myself before answering a few basic health questions. Following this you will be required to use alcohol based hand sanitizer to commence treatment. This is to make sure everyone is safe and AFX keeps good records of all who enter the clinic room. 05.01.2022 Hey guys, check out my mini lesson #6 GLUTES AND NERVE PAIN Objective is to release the glute muscle tissue, there are 3 major muscle groups. Now there are other ways you can get sciatice nerve pain more associated to the lower back discs etc. The glute muscles are responsible for the hinging affect in the body and are critical is proper movement. Releasing them can create amazing releaf for hip function and any restriction in leg mobility. ... Symptoms can be localised muscle aching all the way to major nerve compression sensations in the outer leg. Also feet pointing out and being unable to bring your knee close to your chest. If you sit down all day, wear tightbelts and where restrictive clothing like heavy cottons or tight dresses. 04.01.2022 Hey guys, check out my mini lesson #8 THORACIC BACK PAIN Objective is to release the thoracic back muslces. This group of tissue is responsible for keeping you upright and maintaining good posture (no pressure right) ... Issues in this area can be local over overuse but usually are apart of a major whole body postural dysfunction. This is where is shows up the most. Slumped back, rolled shoulders, forward head posture etc etc. Feelin me? If you have bad feet and tight/dysfunctional hips, usually there will always be signs of thoracic back pain to go with it. Super important to keep this are trigger point free and tightness here affects breathing, energy levels, and general physical well being Get into the thoracic often and have a go. 04.01.2022 Hey guys, check out my mini lesson #11 ABDOMINAL TIGHNESS Todays objective is to release the abdominal region. Both lateral abs and rectus abdominus become restricive and also flacid in some cases (keep your core tight) i can also be a misconception. Believe it or not they can become too tight and cause a range of different dyfunctions. ... One being, the tight band of tissue causes the region to compress the rig cage down when really you need the less major core groups to fire (transverse, oblique) etc This leads to breathing difficulty, poor rib control and myriad of other problems in the upper and lower body. IT ALL CONNECTS FOLKS. So get a ball roughly 8 to 12 cm and follow this sequence. In a clockwise motion. GOGOGO! 1 - Get a soft ball into the abdominal region. 2 - Work slow in your release, BREATHE! 3 - Add movement to your technique 3 - Feel good! Let me know What You think? Anthony.

04.01.2022 Hey guys, check out my mini lesson #7 TIGHT HIP FLEXORS Objective is to release the hip flexors Illiacus and Psoas. These muscles are primarily responsible for hip flexion (knees to chest) issues with this group can cause major hip and lower back tension usually from weak or disabled glute function ... If you sit down alot for work or over use hip flexion during excercise (usually most abdominal excercises result in hip flexor use not proper abdominal contraction) these activities will hammer your hip flexors! Release these a few times per week and you will see noticable results in the hip region with little effort. 1 - Get ball point object in the flexor region 2 - Work slow in your release, breathe! 3 - Add movement to your technique 3 - Feel good! This fan shaped muscle is responsible for active movement and stabilization of the scapula (shoulder blade) and when weak is one of the main issues CAUSING SHOULDER PAIN AND INSTABILITY!!....... sorry i know im yelling but ITS IMPORTANT! ... Now releasing this area will relieve the area and leave your shoulder feeling comfortable and relaxed. So keeping the muscle well activated and strong is a high priority is keeping heathly shoulders.
