18.01.2022 Egrets are the primary parasite control used at Kandanga Farm. Sounds silly, but using nature to solve our problems saves money & means we can produce food without poison.

15.01.2022 Organic Certification in a traditionally high parasite, coastal area like the Mary Valley (Qld. Australia) is no easy fete. Although most said it could not be done, we put our mind to it and have created a reselient herd with some great nutrition and natural parasite control programs. It took 3 years to move from Chemical Free to Certified Organic and bring growing stock through the "in conversion" process. What other way is there to ETHICALLY produce, TRUELY LOCAL, PASTUR...E FED, HIGH QUALITY beef with the low food miles a discerning market demands? Travelling around 30km over the 30 months it takes to grow out our stock, we beleive you will TASTE THE DIFFERENCE! Available Frozen Fresh fom Kandanga Farm Store, or try before you buy with a K2 Scottburger at the Cafe. Most cuts now available so come for a drive!

11.01.2022 Grassfed, organic Beef. Please get your kids to read this simple explanation before they get brainwashed!

10.01.2022 We developed these bags at Kandanga Farm to assist getting a fine grade crushed rock product called Absorbacide onto our cattle as it’s a safe, certified organic insecticide that gets our buffalo fly numbers to a level that is essential for the animal husbandry of our cattle. Happy cattle are fat cattle and in summer, buffalo fly is one of our biggest pests. 3 years on and the #BosBag is an overnight, chemical free success sold through Rural Resellers like Elders (and many ot...her Australian Owned independent shops in the AIRR group mainly). People are realising that some home-grown solutions are much cleverer than imported, post - war poisons. Bos Bags are made in the local upholstery shop a few k’s down the road, are refillable and provide one of the only ways to apply non-chemical insecticide onto animals. This post wasn’t at our place but it reminded me that with the rain yesterday and the warm weather, bags need filling ready for the inevitable upcoming fly season. Unlike chemical treatments, there are no resistance issues with this physical contact method, so if we get our bags out now and keep on top of the flies early, cattle will self-medicate (rub on the bags) throughly the season and stop the bothersome buggers! https://www.bosrural.com.au/chemical-free-fly-control-bos-b
