07.01.2022 Plastic for Change (PFT) Update: The end of 2019 saw the completion of our first year of trade with PFC and here is just a snapshot of what we achieved! 250 TONNES of waste was traded which equates to... 2200kgs of plastic diverted from our oceans 12 MILLION bottles recycled 307 TONNE of CO2 prevented Now most importantly we traded with Waste Pickers from India. To understand a little more of what this means for them, I want you to close your eyes, imagine living not just week to week but day to day to provide for your family never knowing if or how much you will get paid, you work in an environment that is dangerous to your health and well being and to top it all off you are treated as if you are the lowest people of society! We helped to change these circumstances for 340 Waste Pickers and not only do they now KNOW how much and when they will be paid, they have also received 19% INCREASE in their earnings! Plus we have helped them to gain respect in society and self worth! Doesnt this just give you GOOSE BUMPS? And it gets better! In 2020 we are introducing new customers to PFC to help build a sustainable business (and not just rely on trading with us) which means that the precedent of trade has been set by us Annndddd we plan to DOUBLE our intake to 500 TONNE!!
