25.01.2022 Saint-Saens version des rue , c'est juste magnifique !!!

25.01.2022 Over the years AGAPE has had a number of tutors who have gone on to perform in the public space, and we are so proud of them all. Today we are highlighting Emmalisa who was our vocal tutor a couple of years ago. She and her sister have formed a singing duo called Like Angels and they are becoming well known in the Macarthur area and further afield. They are available for weddings, engagement parties, public functions etc. Look up their facebook page for their contact details.

22.01.2022 Tonight AGAPE held the first of our trial piano exam sessions. A fellow piano teacher Amber De Nardi examined some of my students, and I examined some of hers.Getting another opinion and some feedback prior to the real exam is very valuable. This young man had his trial exam tonight.

22.01.2022 Anybody in Newcastle area looking for piano lessons? Sharon Ellam is a highly respected piano teacher who is now offering lessons to people of all ages at Wallsend. It's never too late to take up a new hobby!

22.01.2022 All ready and waiting for day 1 of piano exams to begin. Pianos were tuned yesterday by James Patmore of Piano Direction, waiting room ready and signs put up this morning to remind everyone of our Covid Safe obligations. We are hosting 6 days of exams for students of teachers in our local area, and one day for AGAPE students. Praying for settled nerves for all students and results that do their preparation justice. Settled nerves for teachers too! Being a teacher is sometimes a bit nerve wracking!

20.01.2022 School holidays are nearly over! Term 4 commences next Monday. Lessons are face to face one on one with the tutor. Social distancing is observed as part of our COVID Safe Policy. Lessons on zoom or FaceTime are also available. Some of our piano students are in the final stages of exam preparation. I’m sure the young lad in the video is well on the way to a good result in his Grade 2 Piano For Leisure exam.

19.01.2022 As piano exams come closer, this article might be useful to show students.

19.01.2022 From little things, BIG things grow!

17.01.2022 That’s commitment for you! A broken pinky finger, but the show must go on!

16.01.2022 This young man has worked very hard to prepare for his Preliminary Grade exam which will be on Monday. His piece is called Royal March of the Lion by Saint Saens.

16.01.2022 Day 3 of AMEB piano exams done and dusted! As the temperature rose from the low 30’s to over 40 degrees, Ana Guerra, the teacher whose students were the ones being examined today, continued to encourage them to do their best. Fortunately the waiting room is air conditioned, but the auditorium where the exams are being held is not. The examiner, Michelle Gore, deserves a medal for being in a hot church from 9am to 3.30pm! The other person who deserves a medal is James Patmore ...of Piano Direction. He tuned the Yamaha Grand piano at 7am this morning, and then came back in the lunch break to fix a piano key that had suddenly decided to stick. With thousands of parts in an acoustic piano it’s no wonder that occasionally one part decides not to behave! Heading towards day 4 of piano exams on Monday when the temperature is supposed to be a much more pleasant 28 degrees! See more

15.01.2022 I’m very proud of this young man, who has prepared very thoroughly for his first piano exam which is on Monday next week. This piece is called Mischievous Basketball by an Australian composer,Jo Kotchie.

11.01.2022 It’s been a busy term at AGAPE with many students resuming face to face lessons, and some choosing to stay online. We’ve appreciated the care taken by all parents and students, making sure hands are washed and sanitised, and that no-one comes for a face to face lesson if they are the slightest bit unwell. We can easily switch to online if needed or requested. Student attendance has been great, and progress has been made. Here is one student who is already well prepared for her Grade 5 AMEB exam in November, playing When the Love Falls by Yiruma.

09.01.2022 Day 1 of piano exams done and dusted! Students of Amber De Nardi ,Angela Cole and Manjuri Adikaram all were a delight to have here, with everyone abiding by the social distancing, hand sanitiser requirements. Thank you to Mr Colin McDonald our examiner for the day.

08.01.2022 Day 4 of AMEB exams at AGAPE done and dusted! Our students were so fortunate to have their exams on a day that was only in the mid 20's instead of in the almost 40's as was the case on Saturday. Fifteen students ranging from Preliminary Grade up to Grade 7 did their very best to conquer their nerves, and they all came out of the examination room smiling! The examiner today was Mr Colin MacDonald. Let's wait and see what nice things he wrote on the reports!

06.01.2022 Goosebumps Sit down & watch all the way through x

03.01.2022 Did you know that AGAPE offers drum tuition? Out tutor is currently teaching on Tuesday afternoons. If you are thinking about drum tuition for your son or daughter, why not book in for a couple of trial lessons in the remaining weeks of this term before purchasing a drum kit as a Christmas present, and then enrolling for a full term in 2021?

02.01.2022 Day 2 of piano exams at the AGAPE venue is done and dusted! 15 students of 3 local teachers are all now waiting in anticipation to receive their results in a week or so. Thank you to the examiner Julie Spithill-Evans for helping the young pianists feel at ease. During her lunch break she enjoyed a meal at The House of Art in John St. She was most impressed!!!

02.01.2022 Piano exams are almost upon us! This young man is well and truly ready I think!
