22.01.2022 Have you ever wanted to print/email or save a screen within Phoenix Financials? There is a handy little drop-down arrow on the right of any printer icon you see in Phoenix. This allows you to preview the area as a report on screen and either print, email or save the report. Common uses are: - email a full category setup list to your accountant/financial advisor - print/email a copy of the reconciliation screen when having difficulties reconciling... - email/save a copy of a customer account to check on their payments - save a copy of your card file list - email a copy of an EFT batch payment How would you use it? 19.01.2022 This weeks TipTuesday is getting access to the Autralian Governments https://buff.ly/3cBI4GN Free training. They list a large range of different training options from: business training, industry compliance, employing staff etc. I'm sure we could all use a bit of guidance in areas we aren't overally experienced in, new to or just haven't updated our skills in a while.

17.01.2022 Are you using 'Bank Transactions' and Importing your downloaded transactions from your bank? Many clients are still using a .csv file for the download from their internet banking. However, the easiest file format to download and therefore import into Phoenix Financials is .ofx (open file exchange). This file is sometimes called a MYOB or Quicken file but is widely used by many Financial Software Providers. The import of an .ofx file is very simple when compared to the .csv.... To see the full import functionality for Bank Transactions you can watch the webinar recording here: https://buff.ly/31KbAWT If you would like an even simpler option then there is a Bank Feed available from many Financial Institutions. There is also a webinar recording you can watch here: https://buff.ly/35FDvID Note: The .ofx file is provided by many Financial Institutions, however there are still a couple that do not provide it.

16.01.2022 Have you noticed the Pay Run screen in Phoenix Payroll has changed? The screen layout has been redesigned to provide more functionality. To make full use of the new features there is a simple explanation here:

16.01.2022 We often hear of people who put their livestock records and budgets on excel and suffer very similar loss, just not to same extent as what was experienced in the article below. But still it is a lot of work to gather that data for it to just disappear or become corrupt. Use Phoenix Livestock or Phoenix Power Budgets for simpler reports that break down complex data to produce actionable business decisions. www.agdata.com.au/livestock

15.01.2022 Was your New Year's resolution to be more efficient with your Financials? If the answer is yes, then Bank Feeds can easily achieve this. Bank Feeds are available from all major banks. For a quick overview on how Bank Feeds will cut down your data entry time by at least half (yes, you read that last sentence correctly!) there is a short overview video you can watch here: https://buff.ly/3l2Gxw1 If this wasn't your New Year's Resolution but you have another one involving your farm data, feel free to add it in the comments so we can help you achieve it!

14.01.2022 It's always good to start the year with a focus on Safety. These two items have come to our attention and you may wish to have a look at them for your farm business? SHEQSY It's a lone worker safety app that may fill a need in your business. It claims to allow you to feel confident you have taken reasonable steps to minimise risks faced by lone workers and reduce your exposure to significant work, health and safety fines. https://sheqsy.com/ SAFEFARM... SafeFarm in conjunction with the Queensland Government are providing FREE online safety induction training for employees to complete prior to beginning employment on site. https://safefarm.com.au/qcr/ #farmsafety #loneworker #safetyinduction

13.01.2022 There are many handy keyboard shortcuts in Phoenix Financials. A really good one is the 'right click' shortcut when selecting parameters for Reports. The 'right click' shortcut is provided for Account, Period, Enterprise & Groups and gives you quick options like Select All, Unselect All and Cashflow (Open) accounts only. Thus, making your reporting so much quicker and easier. You can learn more keyboard shortcuts in the Management Report webinar that we did for you a little while back: https://buff.ly/3jP4rLP

13.01.2022 It has been a busy week for the team at AGDATA with another financial quarter coming to an end & a new one beginning. We've just released a new update of Phoenix (10.0.4). https://buff.ly/2SfaE7G and our training team have virtually been down in Geelong with the students at @MarcusOldhamCollege #Agribusiness

13.01.2022 Phoenix Payroll Support can be accessed by clicking the '?' button in the top right hand side of your Dashboard. It is located in here within all areas of Phoenix Payroll for easy of use. 11.01.2022 We're not sure this video passes the pub test or the lick test but you decide. Well done Richo.

10.01.2022 Livestock Markets around Australia in most Stock and Station Agents terms have been 'solid'. With MLA's market reports and pricing in most states and territories showing an overall upward trend for the past 3 years: https://buff.ly/3kdOY7r Thus, whether it's buying or selling for commercial or trade livestock knowing you'll make a good return can be difficult. Phoenix Livestock's 'What If' tool provides possible outcomes based on your scenario/parameters for buying, selling and return on investment. Provided are two Selling Guides for Live (sale yards) vs Dressed (abattoir) and the possible outcomes based on a Minimum & Maximum Weight with a Weight Increment of 10kg. The results are provided in the grid with a number possible outcomes which can be analysed for your businesses desired outcome.

09.01.2022 Interesting fact, we stopped supporting Phoenix V5 back in December 2014. V5 was released in 2008. Yet there are a few who persist with it despite all the improvements that have been made over the years. We released Phoenix 10 in July this year. Remaining on Phoenix V5 is a false economy. Your accountant has to work harder and as such cost you more and you have to work harder than you need to. Just one of the improvements that we made in Phoenix 7 can save you more than 20% of your data input time. Put a value on your time and then message us to find out how you can upgrade to Phoenix 10. https://www.agdata.com.au/about-us/timeline/

06.01.2022 With the Instant Asset Write Off and the End of Year deals, many will have purchased new vehicles, plant and equipment along with other assets for business. Entering Asset Purchases can be achieved easily by working through what happened. We normally explain them as a 'dissection line' for each aspect of the purchase. For example: Line 1: Asset purchase (what did you buy) Line 2: Any on road costs etc (expenses itemised out separately or have a different GST rate) ... Line 3: If you have a trade In (sale of old asset) Line 4: If you have finance for the new asset (loan) Depending on what happened with your purchase you may not need all these dissection lines. For those using Financials with Asset & Liability accounts to produce Net Worth reports, showing Equity $ and % then linking the purchase and/or sale to these accounts is recommended. There is a webinar recording you can watch which explains how to enter and structure your asset purchase transactions for easy entering: https://buff.ly/2HB4mgQ See more

01.01.2022 This is a 'stitch in time, saves nine' story. Are you a using Bank Feeds or Imports and the From/Paid To field is coming up blank? Would you like your Card File to auto match to the bank transaction? If so, then editing your Card File to be the same\similar to what appears on your bank transactions is the answer. There is a handy edit card file button in the bank transaction window to edit whilst adding transactions. There are some caveats to editing your Phoenix Card Fi...le to be the same as what the bank provides. In some cases what you know the company\customer\supplier as can be very different to what the bank provides. Therefore, tracking back through your data can be difficult when you know them as one name but your Card File has a different one. In some cases it is better to keep your Card File as is and just quickly enter the Card File. However, if you have many that do not automatically appear editing them to be the same\similar will assist in your speed of adding transactions. See more
