25.01.2022 Hi all! We are now closing testing for the Age-ility Project Phase 1! It's been a massive couple of years and we are grateful to all participants in the study. In the end, we collected data from 237 participants which is a big achievement. Thank you so much for helping us to reach this!

24.01.2022 In today’s competitive world, it’s become increasingly common for scientists to question where their skills and knowledge will fit outside the lab, so what transferable skills do they have? - via Naturejobs.

24.01.2022 Hi everyone! Recently our PhD student Patrick Cooper competed in the Three Minute Thesis. This is a competition in which PhD students present their research in only three minutes. Patrick placed 3rd here at the University of Newcastle and was invited to compete in the National Finals in Brisbane! Congratulations Patrick this is a huge achievement! Linked below is a youtube clip of Patrick’s presentation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFiRuqfNSUk

23.01.2022 Hello everyone! The year is coming to an end so we thought we should give a little update of what’s happened in 2015! We finished analysing our first phase of testing and would like to thank the 237 participants who were part of the Ageility project. It was a great achievement and your data being used in a number of studies to investigate important relationships between cognitive flexibility, brain pathways, and behaviour. Furthermore, we were able to commence a second phase of testing which looks at changes in these attributes over time. Some of the participants have already been contacted and over 20 have already completed their second sessions. Watch this space as we keep you updated with project updates and things happening in the world of neuroscience!

21.01.2022 Our project leader is coordinating the ICON2014 satellite workshop, bringing thirteen international researchers with stellar careers to Newcastle to discuss cutting-edge approaches to multidisciplinary and translational research in areas relating to cognitive control. http://www.hmri.com.au//satellite-meeting-multidisciplinar

19.01.2022 In line with results from the Age-ility project recent work suggests impaired cognitive control may result in a tendency to seek stimulation impulsively and an increased risk for maladaptive outcomes, including substance abuse. See below for the recent paper published in the Journal of Neuroscience by an international collaboration.

18.01.2022 Don't forget to send in your take-home questionnaires by this Thursday, 24th July to be eligible for the prize draw of a Pendo Pad 7. For those that have yet to complete all testing sessions, you will be eligible for the next draw later in the year. Good luck everyone!

17.01.2022 The University of Newcastle recently hosted the Australasian Cognitive Neuroscience Society's conference in sunny Shoal Bay. The Age-ility Project was there in full force, presenting a small taste of some of the findings from the project. Age-ility team members Montana McKewen and Patrick Cooper were awarded with best presentations - Montana for best 'fast talk' and Patrick for best 'oral presentation.'... Big congratulations to Montana and Patrick and the whole team for a successful conference! http://www.newcastle.edu.au//uon-hosts-2016-australasian-c

16.01.2022 Hi everyone! We have finished processing all of your MRI scans. Here is one from one of our researchers. If you'd like to see your scan, don't hesitate to contact us [email protected]

15.01.2022 The Age-ility Project Team are happy to announce a prize draw for participants of a Pendo Pad 7. To be eligible, you must have completed all testing sessions and returned your take-home questionnaires. The prize will be drawn on Friday, 25th July, 2014. Good luck everyone!

10.01.2022 New year, new honours students! Here are our honours students for 2015 reading up on the literature together. They are also being trained up to take on re-testing later this year.

09.01.2022 Hi all! Our team has just published a paper on the Age-ility Project (Phase 1). This paper talks about the aims of the study as well as how your MRI scans were processed. It also gives access to our data to researchers internationally, so they can use them to answer other research questions. Data sharing is a great service to the research community and helps research students in developing countries obtain access to expensive imaging data they don’t have the resources to acquire. We already have over 800 downloads of the dataset.. so your data is contributing to research around the world. Really interesting read, feel free to check it out! http://www.sciencedirect.com//article/pii/S105381191500347X
