22.01.2022 Government measures to achieve social distancing have been changing rapidly and, we have to say, communication and clarity have been shit. Keeping abreast of our own responsibilities has made for a stressful time and demanded we make some difficult decisions. A constant message, though, has been use common sense. Well, common sense tells us that if it’s not safe to have two people visit your home and that we should only leave the house for necessities, then it’s also not s...afe for cafes to stay open, even for takeaways. If our governments won’t say it then we will. Our espresso, delicious as it is, is not a necessity. Basic food and sanitary products are necessities. Healthcare is a necessity. Our espresso is the artwork that adorns your culinary day. It is not a necessity and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We’re not closing because of a lack of supportyou’ve all been fantastic to us. We’re closing because, in the interest of our staff and our wider community we think it’s the only sensible, responsible decision for a business like ours to make for the time being. We don’t want to be the reason you risk your safety by leaving the house. When this all passes, we don’t want to look back and have been responsible for worsening the crisis and putting the community at risk. We’ll reopen as the public health advice for Tasmania makes more sense and the risk of community infection decreases. Maybe in a fortnight, maybe in 6 months. Contactless, cashless transactions are still recommended, but we'll now be accepting cash. Correct weight is very much appreciated. Clean and dry keep cups will now be accepted. Emphasising the clean partwe may not accept a keep cup that is considered unclean by our team. Please respect this. ... Dine-in service will return in the near future, but bear with us as we plan a sustainable way of serving both take-away and dine-ins whilst adhering to state Government regulations around patron numbers.
