21.01.2022 We're curious... if you could make the PERFECT PLAYLIST about life in regional Queensland, what songs would you put on it? Let us know and we might just do something with your favourites
19.01.2022 Poor regulation negatively impacts our environments. Poor regulation is degrading the land. Unnecessary government green and red tape is severely debilitating ...agricultural productivity and economic development across the state, including in Great Barrier Reef catchments. Traditional Owners know that Australian ecosystems need to be managed to remain healthy. Our ecosystems have altered over the past 230 years, with changed fire regimes, introduced plants, and agricultural and urban development. Farmers have managed Queensland landscapes for well over a century, but currently the politically motivated regulatory framework is preventing them from providing the healthy ecosystems and landscapes that Queenslanders desire. We want to see evidence-based ‘repeal days’ where poor regulation is regularly removed or replaced. What would you want to see? Learn more at our #standwithregqld website https://okt.to/0eSEmP
15.01.2022 Thank you to 7 great guys, Drew, Steve, Simon, Andy 1, Andy 2, Tony and Don, who are on a 5 day ride from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, supporting our rural ...towns. They were literally rescued by Ben from Melrose Station yesterday, who flagged them down on the road and took them to a shed on the property to wait out the storm. Ben, the guys said you made it possible for them to continue the trip. They stayed at the Eulo Queen last night, arrived in Thargo this morning and visited Coffee on Dowling before heading to Eromanga. Thanks guys for supporting our towns, we really appreciate it.

13.01.2022 The popular and successful On-Farm Water Infrastructure Rebate Scheme has received a boost in the Federal Budget. Water Minister Keith Pitt and David Littleprou...d MP have today announced an extra $50 million in the Budget for the scheme, doubling its total funding to $100 million. The scheme provides much needed assistance to improve water security, productivity and profitability on farms. Managed by states and territories, it had become over-subscribed by an estimated 2000 applications. The Government’s extra $50 million will be available this financial year to drought-affected livestock producers and horticulturalists with permanent plantings, Minister Pitt said. This investment in our farmers provides rebates up to 25% of the eligible infrastructure costs, capped at $25,000. Minister Littleproud said, While recent rains are a cause for optimism, recovering from drought can take years rather than months. This rebate is essential in the immediate term to help farmers keep livestock watered and permanent plantings alive in the drought. It’s even more valuable over the long term because the water infrastructure farmers build now will better prepare them for future drought events. The Commonwealth has stepped up to provide this extra funding to ensure more farmers do not miss out on this crucial rebate, and I know farmers would welcome state governments also stepping up to co-fund these rebates in order to provide certainty to communities, Minister Littleproud said. 10.01.2022 You've been sending in your songs and waiting patiently... and now it's HERE!
10.01.2022 Excellent points made in this article by Senator Susan McDonald - I'm concerned that too much focus is given to those who tell us we're destroying the planet while those who are taking practical steps to improve the environment receive far less attention. #standwithregqld
09.01.2022 As the most decentralised state in Australia, infrastructure in regional Queensland is vital to help connect people and transport produce from the bush to the c...ity. Yet we suffer from higher than average transport costs, unreliable water supplies, and poor telecommunication connectivity. This week #standwithregqld is exploring the issues of roads and railways. Queensland needs investment to build and maintain these vital connections to help our regional communities thrive and to continue to feed and clothe those in the cities. 03.01.2022 #whywarri #nowthisisprogress the NSW Government has sealed right to our QLD border gate. The DTMR’s South West Regional Transport Plan identifies the Warri Gate... Road cross-border connection as a medium to long term goal. This goal forms part of Priority 2 A transport system that enhances liveability through connected communities. Cross border connections enhance the liveability of regional communities by: Providing transport options for users that fit the region’s context Connectivity communities across and outside the region Enhancing regional amenity through high quality desire and user experience The Warri Gate Road Cross Border Connection will also bring financial benefits to the region. Connecting the NSW Silver City Highway to the Queensland Road Network indicates that there will be significant cost and time saving for heavy vehicle transport operators when Warri Gate Road and the associated Silver City Highway are completely sealed. #thatswhy https://www.traveller.com.au/nsw-outback-roads-broken-hill- Visit Quilpie Shire - Your Outback Adventure Murweh Shire Council My Maranoa Longreach Regional Council Diamantina Shire Council Barcoo Shire Council Blackall -Tambo Visitor Information Central Highlands Regional Council Southern Downs Regional Council Banana Shire Council Toowoomba Region AgForce Queensland Santos: Proudly Australian Eromanga Natural History Museum Bulloo River Hotel Motel (The Home of Surly Shirley) Cameron Dick MP Mark Bailey MP - Labor for Miller Stirling Hinchliffe MP Deb Frecklington MP Steve Minnikin MP Michael McCormack MP Simon Birmingham Lachlan Millar MP Mark Coulton MP Department of Transport and Main Roads (Queensland) Scott Morrison (ScoMo) Andrew Constance MP Gladys Berejiklian ABC Western Queensland Jason Clare Mark Furner MP for Ferny Grove Robbie Katter MP Glenn Butcher - Member for Gladstone Regional Development Australia - Central and Western Queensland Experience Outback Queensland, Australia Tim Mander MP - State Member for Everton Tony Perrett Andrew Powell MP Ann Leahy Annastacia Palaszczuk MP Kate Jones Dr Anthony Lynham MP Broken Hill City Council Tibooburra Hotel Scott Buchholz MP Road Boss Rally GIVIT
