23.01.2022 The next generation of farmers have been touring the Upper South East today exploring the impact of climate change - & looking at options to manage our varying climate into the future. The bus visited soil sites around Cannawigara discussing soil amelioration options - & then onto Coomandook to look at ‘Unlocking Ag Potential’. The day has been funded by the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program in cooperation with South East Natural Resources Management. AgInnovate is pleased to be delivering in cooperation with MacKillop Farm Management Group.

22.01.2022 Pre-Harvest Human Checks The pre-harvest machinery checks are done Your details are with the grain handlers Your local trucking contractor is ready to go ... But is your team ready to go? A pre-harvest meeting with everyone is essential. It should include; WHS update (key risks, expectations, key contacts, UHF channels, first aid, etc) fire plans the expectations you have for the team fatigue reminders expected issues plus anything else you think they need to know This is a critical catch-up. It is ensures you meet your WHS obligations as a basic minimum - but more importantly it sets the scene for a safe and productive harvest - and helps to make you an ‘employer of choice’ in a tight labour market. Meaning people will want to work with you next season! Win:Win We have a range of pre-harvest materials available. Drop us a message and we’ll send them across to you.

20.01.2022 Here on the farm we are just enjoying the last couple of weeks of quiet time before hay is cut, lambs are weaned, crutching occurs and then grain harvest. Life gets really busy for us from November to March. So we need to make sure all the house jobs are done, holidays taken, and energy stored before we tackle our busy season. For many grain farms across Australia harvest is starting. The fruits of our labour (or the frost) will be told. We’ve done our pre-harvest checks (of... machinery and people) and we’re prepared and ready to go. We’ve done our seasonal safety briefing, our new harvest employees have been inducted, and we have a plan that will ensure our energy levels are managed (us and our employees). Tiredness and stress at this stage of the year is a real threat, and one that needs to be managed. If you need a hand to prepare your team for your busy season, then please touch-base with Danielle. We can coach you through the busy season, and we have a range of templates on file to make sure you and your business are prepared. #aginnovate #peopleinag #harvest21 #busytimesonfarm #managingourpeople #preparingforharvest

17.01.2022 Celebrate Women in Wool Fashion and Innovation Today Danielle is in Kapunda celebrating being a woman in the Australian Wool industry. Sheep Connect SA are thrilled to be presenting the annual Woolmark Exhibition and Australian Wool Innovation Fashion Parade for another year. 16.01.2022 Are you following the #apenchallenge - some great insights into the amazing people involved in agriculture extension!

16.01.2022 Women in wool Networking, networking, networking! It’s not often we get to dress up and enjoy the fruits of our labour on a Merino wool property. Wool takes 12 months to grow, at least 9-months from shearing to fabric, and then another 6 months until it’s in the shops. So very rarely do we get to experience what our 17 micron wool turns into! (Apart from the fact that most is sold internationally!)... Dani thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Women in Wool’ event today at Alamby Station, Kapunda, SA where a range of wool producers dressed up and enjoyed the AWI fashion parade. A great lead-up to tomorrow’s International Day of Rural Women!

04.01.2022 Happy International Rural Women’s Day to all my fellow rural women. I am proud to be a woman living and working in rural Australia. It is so much a part of who I am, my core values and principles. This year‘s theme is ‘Rural Women Cultivating Good Food for All’. It reminds us of the critical role women play in food production globally. ... Not just here in Australia but globally. For many rural women their days are spent cultivating food to feed their families. Today is a day to celebrate us. To reflect on the role rural women play in our communities, our farms, and our families. Thank you for everything you do. Xx https://www.unwomen.org//announcer-international-day-of-ru

04.01.2022 M Y W H Y I have been self-employed at AgInnovate for over 8 years now. I love working for myself, setting my own hours, working from wherever I want, and choosing the projects I work on and who I work with. Why is this important to me? I have a family and a farm. I like to be able to work from home, to be around (and work less) during school holidays and busy times on the farm. I like to be able to go to school assemblies, help out at sports day, and generally be there for ...our daughter. This is a personal value that flows through into my consultancy business and guides me on how I invest my time. What is your why? What motivates you every day to do what you do? Have you been thinking of branching out, setting your own goals, designing your work around your life? Then why not join me next week for my first ever half-day 'starting your own consultancy business'. The group is small, and the networks you will make to support you on your journey are priceless! Register now - https://events.humanitix.com/starting-your-own-consultancy I can't wait to see you there.
