22.01.2022 Its with a heavy heart that I put up this post - This is just a gate.... Its not an expensive one, but definitely a little unique. Its the gate that I grew up with. A gate I touched almost everyday of my childhood through to adolescence. But thats not why Im so sad. Its the gate that was also touched by my mother and father a millions times in their many decades together .. it was even smooth on the corner where they had to hip and shoulder to get it open. Dad died in 2008 from cancer. Mum died in a road smash in 2016. Len and Sylvia Pearson. We recently sold the family home after an agonising couple of years coming to terms with it. My plan was to make this gate into their headstone. I had the gate removed and stored until I could get to Castlemaine to collect it, also an album of their candid wedding shots from 1959. They were being kept in the office of the Salvage Yard in Lewis Drive. Sunday just gone I went to collect, to find that both had been stolen sometime in the past 3 weeks. Im hoping to spread this photo far and wide, and maybe, with a little help from my friends, we might find it and continue with the plan. An honest young man who took it believing it was old stock not collected! Sadly no album though I take full responsibility that I didnt collect earlier and I dont blame anyone connected I am so over joyed right now I thank EVERYONE who took the time to comment, share and support here on Facebook, utter madness, Ive never had over 16,000 people support me!! This one sad incident has done something more than bring back my gate, it reignited my love for the community my parents chose to raise me in, a community that supported our family throughout our lives, and most importantly, the community that brought home my precious family memorial!! 13.01.2022 Putting feelers out there. Just found out that the farm were currently renting is potentially going on the market. So Im now on the hunt to find a long lease.... So my partner and myself are looking for a farm to lease. No short leases please as we want to make this our last move before we purchase our home. Were both full time workers with secure jobs in the mines. I have 4 performance horses, 2 outside Bulldogs and a Ragdoll who spends most of her day outside. We do currently have 10 Angus calfs that ideally we would like to take with us pending the property has the feed to facilitate them - my partner turns them over as a hobby. Any farming repairs we do mostly our selfs water pumps, paddock irrigators, fencing, yard work ect. Having a big shed would be a added bonus.
