25.01.2022 So, like everyone else, we’ve had to make some changes dt covid 19. Vets have officially been deemed an essential service, so we will continue to work, but some changes have been made to protect our staff and community. We will now be closing at 2 on the days we normally close at 5. To minimise staff exposure. We will be being much stricter about making appointments- you must make an appointment so we can minimise the time you are waiting and the crossover with other cus...tomers. Please have only necessary people attend your pets appointment- we need to limit the people in the building. This means we will ask you to leave your kids in the car if you bring them. Sorry If your pet just needs a repeat script or food. Please call ahead and order ( and preferably pay over the phone) so you can come in and quickly pick it up- or we can bring it to your car. If you are in a vulnerable group or would just prefer contactless service- call ahead and talk to us. We can manage this for you and your pet. And like everyone else- we have marks on the floor and a request to wait outside to comply with social distancing. This is a challenging time for everyone, so I thank you in advance for your patience and your kindness to my staff. We are all doing our best in this stressful time. Susannah PS. We talked to our ginger about social distancing. It didn’t go well

24.01.2022 We are closed this Saturday for ANZAC day. Lest we forget

22.01.2022 Look how thirsty this little guy is when I was watering my veggies this evening. Please leave some water out for wildlife, everyone is parched And if you’ve got the time a little rain dance couldn’t hurt

20.01.2022 We’ve been a bit absent from FB for a while- but just cos the real world is so busy! Keep safe- and don’t eat all the things labbies

20.01.2022 We will be closed over the Easter long weekend, and reopen at 9 am Tuesday. Vet available in usual manner for emergencies. Remember, no Easter eggs or hot cross buns for your furry friends, and please stay home and out of trouble. Happy Easter to all.

19.01.2022 Who wants to play a game? We are now stocking the advance DNA test kits for mixed breed dogs. So meet sweet man Copper. Who we recently ran the test on. What breed (s) do you think Copper is? and GO! And the answer is Coppers 'breed(s)'are Boxer / Bull Terrier Mix crossed with Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Chihuahua / American Staffs. Terrier / Basset Hound Cross... And no, we didn't guess most of them in the clinic either. Thanks for playing ;)

18.01.2022 So now it looks like I need to find this guy a home Has anyone got room in their home and hearts for a shy guy? This fellow is timid ( and overwhelmed at the clinic) but chatty and sweet. Young adult(3?) with no evidence of health issues. He’d suit someone with a quieter home and time to talk him out of his shell. But I predict he’ll be a right snuggle bunny. Sound like you? Please call the clinic 49749045

16.01.2022 So time for me to weigh in on covid 19 and what it means to my business. I’ve stayed intentionally quiet on this until now because the media saturation is emotionally exhausting- but I can avoid it no longer. It is very likely, from what is happening overseas, that vets will be listed as an essential service and will be able to still work as other businesses temporarily close their doors. It certainly won’t be ‘business as usual’ but we will still be here for your pets chr...onic medications when you need them filled, or with any emergencies if they arise. The vet surgeons board has changed the rules slightly in these unusual times and telemedicine is now an option if you have a sick pet. So if there’s a need, we will endeavour to help. And we will endeavour to keep you updated with our business changes as they arise. So while I am at it, here’s my personal take. These are indeed scary and overwhelming times, but we have a lot to be grateful for. As Australians we have excellent and free health care, and we have had time to prepare- which is invaluable. If physical distancing is all that is being asked of you- you are lucky. This is not war. In fact the global community is all working together to save lives- so it’s like the opposite of war. Physical distancing is an act of love. Do it. Stay home. Protect our vulnerable. As residents of Agnes and surrounds we are lucky. We have had heaps of practice with eating out of our pantries with floods, and we have small businesses that are used to maintaining supply chains in difficult times, as well as a community that is great at rallying when we know that there are people in need. We are copers- we will cope. And we are living in a time when technology can bring the world into our homes. You can tour zoos, museums, art galleries online. You can do courses and learn skills online, or watch a comedy or music performance. Do that instead of social media. Right now social media is fuelling everyone’s fear. If you miss a friend- call them. Also- get information from good sources. ABC as a news source, or government websites. And if it all feels too much- go for a walk. Get some exercise and fresh air. There’s plenty of room here- just give everyone a bit of space. This too shall pass. We just need to keep our heads. Susannah

09.01.2022 The ongoing bushfires all over Australia are heartbreaking for all of us to watch. The immediate and ongoing effect they will have on livestock, farmers, wildlife and Australia is nearly impossible to comprehend. We are seeing a lot of posts being shared with suggested actions that for the veterinary and carer teams on the front line, are not actually very helpful, so here we are trying to provide a little insight for those, who like us, really want to DO something to help t...Continue reading
