15.01.2022 A bit of maintenance done on a Suzuki Grand Vitara. New front brake pads, engine accessory drive belts and a brake fluid flush. Brake fluid is only good for about 2 years (less in humidity area's). Once it absorbs moisture the braking efficiency is reduce. Don't comprise your or your families safety, ask about it next service. Note the colour difference in the brake fluid I removed (water bottle) and what went back in.

14.01.2022 Here's a fit-out that's sure to impress. The customer supplied the LED bullbar driving lights, LED light bar and rear facing work lights. A quick call to Agnes Water Accessories to get it wired up, no worries. Then they remembered the passenger window stopped working and the sunroof has stopped. Can you fit an "Anderson plug" for the camper trailer? Sure can. Agnes Water Accessories supplied and fitted a REDARC Electronics Sbi12 Voltage sensitive relay and heavy duty wirin...g to supply plenty of power to their camper trailer, while protecting the start battery. Then it was time to tackle the light wiring where we supplied wiring harness's, relays, switches and more heavy duty wiring for that massive LED lightbar. All conducted and protected. Got the power window working again and diagnosed the faulty sunroof. End result is a happy customer who's vehicle is set up well for weekends or touring.

09.01.2022 This customer came to me complaining the brakes don't "feel right". A close up inspection showed the front brake pads low. I quoted on a new set of pads, brake fluid flush and inspection of the rear brake drums. The rear drums were ok and only required a clean and park brake adjustment. The front brakes had seized calliper slides. A clean and a re grease of the calliper and slides and a new set of pads and this Nissan Navara was back on the road. Don't comprise your families safety. If it doesn't feel or look right, get it inspected immediately.

09.01.2022 Oh wow, check this cabin air filter out. Not only is it filthy and almost blocked it wasn't installed right and can't clean the air as it passes around the filter element. Breath easy with a new cabin filter next service. Ask if a cabin filter is available for your vehicle and get it changed.

You don't want to know the price Fuel filter servicing being overlooked and the wrong oil in your European diesel car can cause all sorts of problems. Its one of the main reasons why European cars get a bad rap over here, they are not serviced correctly or things are overlooked.

08.01.2022 Fitted up a Provent oil separator or catch can as some like to call it, to a 2016 Ford Ranger. The Provent is more than the old "coke can" on the side of the engine block. It really is the first modification anyone should do to a diesel engine. Now the customer can be confident the turbo, intercooler wont fill with oil and the intake and heads won't gum up with any nasties, maintaining the longevity of the investment. The Provent oil separator was supplied by Western Filters as a vehicle specific kit, with no modification required to the vehicle. Seamless and looks like a factory product.

08.01.2022 Just completed a major service on a Isuzu DMAX. All fluid and filters were replaced as well as an engine valve adjustment and repacking of front wheel bearings. Inspection of the fuel filter cartridge reveled some alarming signs. With metal found in the bottom of the cartridge and lots of black on the filter media it pays to use the best quality filters. Genuine filters are the best and what I recommend on using, insist on quality, insist on genuine. Only two of the 16 valves (4per cyl) out of spec, this was a quick job for me but one that needs to be done right. Again genuine seals and gaskets were used before the valve cover was torqued down to spec. Local business working with local cars

07.01.2022 This old LN107 Hilux had a birthday last week. They say " always late in a 2.8" but they are super reliable if looked after. These engines must have regular oil changes, atleast every 5000km. They run rich in standard form and only have a small sump capacity for a diesel engine so the oil gets thick, black and full of carbon. Enough of that, I'll back to the job. It came to me with a major oil leak. The radiator was damaged and 27 years old so it got a new one. Oil leak was ...from the front crankshaft seal. All new front seals, timing belt, water pump, viscous fan clutch, idler pulley, belts, coolant pipes, thermostat and radiator. Also got a new cam/rocker cover gasket and a good clean down. Flushed the cooling system twice and gave it an oil change while I was there. Some much needed love and will serve the customer well over the next few years. See more

02.01.2022 I had a customer complain about the engine running a bit rough. What I found during diagnosis was quite a surprise. Cylinder 3 spark plug was "finger tight". On removal and closer inspection I found the center electrode loose and touching the side electrode. What else can you see with the faulty spark plug is the "corona", the yellow ring around the base of the insulator. This is normal and not a reason itself to change the spark plug. It's due to the spark plugs electrostatic induction, which attracts oil and dust to the ceramic insulator. A fresh set of spark plugs and the customer is on his way, happy days. 02.01.2022 Servicing an immaculate 150 series Toyota Prado today. Whilst every thing else was in top condition the air filter had been forgotten. Get your air filter checked and replaced if necessary.

01.01.2022 Seem to be getting a few jobs like this through the door. This old early 90's troopy had a pair of front axle seals that required some much needed attention. Left leaking they can wash all the grease from the CV's and wheel bearings causing premature failure. This customer got the works and nothing was left untouched. New axle seals, wiper seals, king pin bearings, wheel bearings seals and gaskets. CV's were cleaned and repacked along with the locking hubs. In total there was 16-18hrs of work in this job where maybe 1/3 of the time cleaning the components down. Years of oil, grease and mud baked on as well as corrosion takes a lot of scrubbing to remove.

01.01.2022 This 2015 Nissan X-trail came to me a bit worse for wear (actually I came to her in Gladstone) "It's been a while since it's had a service" said the lady who owns it. That's an understatement. The oil was thick and gluggy and the air filter has seen 100,000km. Fresh oil, spark plugs, oil and air filter seen the X-trail running like new. Another happy customer.

01.01.2022 This reliable old 120 series Toyota Prado got some much needed love today. With seized brake caliper pistons and warped brake disc rotors it has seen better days. Quiet common around here with plenty of salt in the air and many roads out of town that are still dirt and beautiful national parks to explore. It doesn't take long for the effects to set it. Supplied and fitted two new brake calipers, two rotors and a set of heavy duty brake pads and the much loved Prado is ready for another adventure.
