25.01.2022 AGnVET is committed to ensuring the safety and well being of its farming communities. With summer spraying requirements not too far away it is essential everyone is aware of their legal requirements and obligations when it comes to safe spraying practices Off-target spray drift is a significant issue for summer cropping in Australia, causing injury and economic damage to a range of crops and the environment. It is important that chemical users "keep the spray on the weeds..." not only from an efficacy standpoint but also to prevent off-target injury to crops. Spraying agricultural chemicals, whether from the ground or the air, needs to be properly planned and carefully monitored and executed, to maximise effectiveness and to minimise the risk of off-target chemical movement. The environmental conditions in summer are conducive to inversion conditions which can lead to large plumes of chemicals moving considerable distances off-target. 19.01.2022 Remembrance Day, 11th November. Charles Bean landed with the Australian troops on Gallipoli on April 25, 1915. He stayed with them at the front through the entire war, refusing evacuation when he was wounded. At Pozieres the following year he was witness to 23,000 Australian casualties in just six weeks. A dying Australian asked him, Will they remember me in Australia?".... We are calling on all Australians to remember them by observing one minute's silence at 11 am on the 11th of November for Remembrance Day. By observing one minute's silence we pay tribute to the men and women who have served and are still serving in our defence forces and remember those who have died or suffered in conflicts, wars and peacekeeping operations.
