24.01.2022 Happy Feet Up Friday from this creeper Chloe

23.01.2022 Fostering saves lives @shayc____ Three months ago we began fostering this beautiful boy. He came to us straight from the track, tired and shy, with bloody cage sores and ribs poking out. We named him Rufus. Within a few weeks he was a completely different dog, his sores had healed, he had gained weight and he had begun to show us his personality. He had never been a pet before, or had any toys, but he was so gentle and loving, and when we gave him his first to...y we saw how much he loved to be silly and play and it warmed our hearts and has made us laugh every day. Fast forward to a month ago, we met a sweet little girl Greyhound named Violet on one of our walks and her owner mentioned that she was wanting to adopt another. Rufus had met other dogs at this point but being with another Greyhound was different, I knew straight away that him & Violet were meant to be together. We began going on more walks & play dates until one day, the adoption forms were filled out and we had a date set for when we would send him off to his forever home. To say that this is hard would be a severe understatement. Rufus, you stole our hearts the day we met you. It has been such a beautiful and rewarding experience to love and care for you and watch you grow. The last few months have been extremely hard for me being in lockdown and unable to work and I am so, so lucky to have had you by my side to keep me sane and make me smile, every single day. You have brought so much joy to our lives and I have no doubt that you will be bringing that same joy to your new family for the rest of your life. Goodbye for now my sweet boy. You'll never be alone again See more

13.01.2022 Dream wedding alert When Fiona married her best friend Patrick, they had to share the occasion with their beautiful greyhound Oshy. Oshy was rescued by Amazing Greys just last year and celebrated her 1st Gotcha day in October. We love seeing our rescued greys become such important and loved members of the family Photography by @itsbeautifulhere

13.01.2022 We’ve had no interest in our special boy Silver and he now needs a home urgently. We can also consider long term foster care. Silver has epilepsy. Before coming to Amazing Greys he was on outdated treatment and hadn't seen a vet for years. He is doing much better on a new mediation regime but he has had a few seizures and needs medication at the same time every day. Any home needs to be confident they can manage this. ... Silver was very anxious when he first came into care but has settled wonderfully into his foster home and is a confident and happy boy now. Silver would like an outdoor area to do regular zoomies please. With some slow introductions we could consider a home with another doggy friend. If anyone is interested in adopting, or has any friends, family, work colleagues etc. who might be a good fit, please contact us and share this. Silver will give you so much love and watching him overcome his challenges with the help of his foster family has been the most heart-warming thing - we just need someone to help him continue his journey now! Silver is nearly 5 years young, he isn’t cat friendly. email [email protected] https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/807908 Microchip 956000005416512 Source EE100778

11.01.2022 Our beautiful Silver He is still waiting for his forever (or new foster) family and it’s making him a little bit sad. Silver has epilepsy but he refuses to be defined by it. He is smart, bold, sassy, and super smoochy. Silver needs medication twice daily and it will take some serious commitment from his new family to make it work. But he will pay you back in spades with his unconditional love and affection. And to make it a bit easier, Amazing Greys will pay for all his ...medication. Medical stuff aside, Silver likes his daily walks and snuggles with his family. He is almost 5 years old but his age does not show. He absolutely loves loves loves zoomies in the garden. Silver was not socialised until about 6 months ago when he came into our care and he has made great progress. He is friends with some of the greyhounds in his neighbourhood and enjoys a walk with his buddies. Please consider this special hound when looking for a new best friend. 09.01.2022 The look you give your foster brother, to thank him for opening his home and his humans to you... <3 Through lock downs, travel restrictions, permits, low contact handovers, virtual home checks, and more - our wonderful community of volunteers pulled together in unprecedented times to rescue 101 Amazing Greys in 2020! But the racing industry continues on and demand for organisations like ours unfortunately never stops; as many people are returning to work, now more than ever we need foster homes where a human or a hound friend will be present to help our nervous greys to settle in and grow confident. If you can help, please email us at [email protected], or share this post with your family and friends! :)

However, we’re not quite sure where Dad is going to sit now If you have space on your couch just going to waste, why not let us know at [email protected]?

06.01.2022 At just under three years old, Daisy Duke has had a rough start to life. When she first arrived in care we were shocked at the state of this little gummy shark’s mouth! Thanks to our friends at Port Phillip Animal Hospital she has had ELEVEN teeth removed, and is now ready to find her forever family A gregarious socialite, Daisy’s perfect home will have a medium to large breed canine playmate (or two), and humans who don’t work traditional full time hours; she loves compa...ny and is happiest when surrounded by her family. A pup at heart, Daisy will need a yard to show off her best zoomies and get the sillies out, although like a typical greyhound she will need lots of snoozing to recover afterwards! For more information on Daisy, see her profile: https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/830966 ** Daisy is located in Melbourne and is not available for interstate adoption. She is not compatible for apartment living or homes with young children and small animals ** [956000006662114 | EE100778]

05.01.2022 * Foster Fails and Adoption Tails: the story of Bon and Suzie! * Bon the sweet six year old is an AG alumni and has been in a loving home for over three years, in August 2020 her generous Mum (Ange) decided to open their home to a foster hound in need and we arranged a placement of supawmodel stunner Ellie the brindle. But Murphy's Law is alive and well in rescue, and sometimes the best laid plans don't always pan out the way we thought they would. On a busy day of new arriv...als, Ms Suzie Moo the shy cowhound had not long arrived in her new foster home with resident hurricane houndie Summer, when Ellie's transport stopped by to drop in supplies on their way - Summer and Ellie clicked so instantly together on meeting that the team couldn't bear to part the new best friends, and a quick plan was hatched for a foster switcheroo, soon Suzie found herself off on a new adventure to Bon's home instead. Ange says she knew on day three that Suzie was "the one", and when Bon moped around sadly while Suzie was overnighting at the vet after her desexing, it was official, they both simply couldn't do without her. And so the special little lady who they'd never even meant to meet, found her forever home. Across town, another dynamic duo was forming, and we're pleased to report that Ellie found her forever home with Summer too, and together they continue to provide emergency lodgings for other fosters in need. The best kind of win is a foster fail! Did you have a "surprise adoption" too? Share your stories with us in the comments below.

02.01.2022 Jack is still looking for his furever home After a rough start to life, 18-month old Jack is a superstar looking for a forever family to love and dote on him. Jack was very shy and nervous when he first came into foster care, hiding in his room for the first few days before becoming brave enough to explore his new home. However, with the help of his foster carers and canine sibling, his confidence has grown and he’s ready to head out into the big, wide world with his forev...er family. Jack’s new family will understand that he is a bit shy at first and he just needs some patience, space, and tasty treats. You’ll be rewarded by watching this young soul flourish under your love and care and grow to make the most beautiful forever companion. He is not cat or small dog friendly, but currently lives with a larger breed and seems fine with bigger dogs. Jack is house trained however is used to having indoor/outdoor toilet access. Ideally, this will be the same in his forever home as Jack has a medical condition called psychogenic polydipsia which causes him to urinate frequently. This will need to be monitored with yearly urine sample checks at the vet but aside from this requires no management at this stage and he’s a happy, healthy boy. He would love an active home with a backyard to play in, and to go for a walk or two every day. He would like a family to help him learn good socialisation skills and work on basic training to build his confidence. Before applying please consider: a) what your work and home life will look like once we reach a "Covid-normal" b) the long-term financial and time commitments of having a forever dog If you think you have an ideal home for Jack, please get in touch at [email protected] Microchip 956000003079615 Source EE10077 https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/818530
