23.01.2022 As you may be aware, Adelaide has unfortunately entered a 6-day lockdown in order to curb a Coronavirus outbreak. As a result, you may experience a short delay when submitting your samples to the Adelaide site. For urgent Sanger submissions, you may wish to submit your samples to our Melbourne laboratory. Please contact [email protected] to organise your submission. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected].... We wish all of our Adelaide clients and staff all the best for this lockdown period.

22.01.2022 Good morning! Unfortunately, we're experiencing the same Office365 problems as everyone else, so if you're trying to get through to us urgently, please phone 1300 247 301 or call your account manager directly using the numbers here: https://www.agrf.org.au/contact-us

22.01.2022 We recently spoke with Dr Carolyn Hogg from the University of Sydney, who ran a #longreadsequencing project with us on the new PacBio Sequel II. Carolyn is working on the BPA Threatened Species Framework Initiative and used the Sequel II to assemble reference genomes for two threatened species, the Bilby and the Woylie. Carolyn explains why creating a reference genome is so important: If I just do RRS I’m giving you a thousand pieces for a five-thousand-piece jigsaw puzzle... so if I asked you to tell me what they mean and where they go on the table, that’s pretty hard to do. If I give you the puzzle box lid it makes it super easy to know what each piece is and where it should go and that’s really what the reference genomes are, they are the puzzle box lids. #hifireads #genomics #conservation #assembly

18.01.2022 We're expanding our Innovation & Development team, and we're looking for two Senior Scientists. We've already posted the details for the first position in Research Collaborations (scroll down to find that one). The 2nd position is in Applied Genomics to identify emerging technologies and customise existing technologies, partner on grants, publish collaborations, and present novel technologies and applications at scientific meetings. Establishing automated workflows is also a... key aspect. If this sounds like you, please apply here: https://seek.com.au/job/50958721 #genomics #sciencejobs See more
