15.01.2022 Nickan is building strength and self confidence each week. Since March, he’s learnt to throw and catch, he’s pushed himself to run 200m without stopping and he loves to improve in his coordination. Here he is coordinating his mind to muscle connection, trying to bear crawl through the lava ladder and not touch an explosive ball to build his arm and core strength. The only thing that was explosive was my pride for his attitude, effort and energy he brings each week. Well done Nickan!

15.01.2022 In 2016 I was on a uni placement teaching Year 2 when I met Harry at the time. He was shy, quiet and non talkative. Literally. He had selective mutism. He chose not to talk to people for years beforehand. I enjoyed the rest of that prac time, with Harry staring at me blankly without a word for 10 weeks. Soon after, he jumped into the @agspire_kids_fitness program. Slowly and surely each week for the last 4 years he grew stronger in himself, stronger in his attitude and strong...er in his voice. I cannot stress how powerful confidence is to children. It’s uplifting and revitalising to see Harry each week as a reminder for how far we can push kids to be better versions of themselves. I’m thankful each week for the lessons he’s taught me and shaped my practice. Here’s Harry now 4 years later ready to take on high school. Haz, you’re a legend. What did he learn in 4 years? Listen for yourself. If something doesn’t challenge us, it won’t change us. #agspire See more

15.01.2022 Great to have Oliver down yesterday on a trial meet and greet assessment. This is where we look at the core, upper and lower body strength of your child, build a relationship and get to know what their specific needs are before we plan a suitable lesson to develop their skills.

06.01.2022 Preparing and planning for a lesson is the easy bit. Anyone can align relevant activities and games to the child’s needs and have a thorough plan ready to go. The real learning curve and growth is where the teacher can spot the child’s frustration, difficulty and anxiousness in the moment and adapt the plan to cater for their needs at the current time. This is how we make gains - bringing a sense of calm and compassion to help them grow emotionally just as well as physically

06.01.2022 70% of your child’s body is water, and needed to regulate body temperature, brain function and growth. Children are at a greater risk of dehydration than adults. This is because in relation to their size, children have a larger proportion of their skin available to lose sweat and be exposed to heat. Additionally, children don’t always recognise that they’re thirsty, and if they’re not encouraged and reminded may forget to drink The amount your child needs will vary depending on their age, size and level of activity. For children under 8 years of age, at least 4-6 glasses of water is recommended. For children older than 8 years of age a minimum of 6-8 glasses is recommended.
