03.01.2022 Challenge: Inconsistent Spray Pattern From Changes in Speed and Pressure HAWKEYE NOZZLE CONTROL Consistent spray pattern is so important to preventing weed resistance, says Gary Esselink, Precision Ag Specialist for Raven. If weeds are only partially damaged, but not killed, eventually a population will develop resistance. Getting the correct rate of the herbicide onto the plant is key to killing it completely. The right nozzle directly affects the coverage.... The Raven Hawkeye Nozzle Control system addresses these challenges in application control. Each nozzle is controlled by using PWM (pulse width modulation) valves. The pulsing NCV (nozzle control valve) adapts to change in flow rates due to changes in speed to give you a consistent spray pattern while keeping pressure constant. So, youre able to cover more acres in less time and receive extended range out of each nozzle.
