20.01.2022 Quitting smoking can be hard. But the minute you stop smoking you start to heal. If you or someone you know is trying to quit smoking come to the clinic so we can cheer you on and provide help.

20.01.2022 Today we had to remove a King Brown Snake from the clinic grounds. Please be snake safe in community. If you get bitten by a snake call the clinic immediately.

20.01.2022 Today we are posting in memory of Julian Elkin Reilly (Petyarr). Born at the Lake Nash Station 1938 J.E.Reilly would go on to lead an extraordinary life. Being the youngest of 5, J.E.Reilly had a proud Kaytetye and Alyawarr heritage. Unfortunately ill health meant that he was sent to the hospital where the Irish-Catholic doctor, Pat Reilly and his then wife, Betty told those who brought J.E.Reilly to hospital to leave him there. The doctor and his wife fostered J.E.Reilly and... gave him his name. Once Pat and Betty spilt Pat and J.E.Reilly relocated to SA. J.E.Reilly would go on to attend many schools. He was a star athlete at many of them. His passion was football. Pat, who had no interest in football, offered to be the doctor for the games so he was there to witness how his son excelled at the game, like when J.E.Reilly kicked a goal from the centre of the ground in one game. Playing with the Sydney Swans, his fame quickly spread to Melbourne. After his football career J.E.Reilly went on to work in Aboriginal health as a board member at Nunkuwarrin Yunti, an Aboriginal community-controlled health service in metropolitan Adelaide and CEO at Ceduna-Koonibba Aboriginal Health Service. J.E.Reilly unfortunately passed on the 3rd of September 2020 aged 82. He is truly missed. This link is to a story that Rostrevor College did on him a number of years ago: https://www.rostrevor.sa.edu.au/artic/elkin-reilly--56.html This one is to the Swan’s tribute to him: https://www.sydneyswans.com.au//swans-mourn-passing-of-elk And this one is to a story that the Swans did on him a few years back: https://www.sydneyswans.com.au/news/37390/elkins-story

14.01.2022 Today marks the Armistice that ended World War One. At eleven minutes past the eleventh hour we shall fall silent in reflection of all indigenous and all other persons who served or are serving in armed forces. "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning... We will remember them." - The Ode, For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon Lest we forget
