19.01.2022 Today marks International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and the first day of #16Days of Activism on gender-based violence. We are joining UN Women ‘s call to #OrangeTheWorld , by wearing orange to raise awareness. Here in Mauritius, Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade ‘s important work is supporting the elimination of violence against women through Australian expertise being provided to the country’s Domestic Violence Perpetrator...s Program. We’re pleased to be partnering with UNDP-Mauritius and the Mauritian Gender Ministry with the expertise of Senior Project Officer of the South Australian Correctional Services, Jason Meyers to support this important program. Collaborating on programs which ‘fund, respond, prevent, collect’ is a big part of Australia’s gender equality priorities overseas, which is as important as ever, in the COVID-19 context. Hear more from Jason Meyers from the South Correctional Services who is helping support this program. #IDEVAW #GBV #16Days #EVAW #DirectAidProgram #PartnersInTheIndianOcean Government of Mauritius

12.01.2022 Me on my way to help humans survive on Mars. We need space suits if we're to live on Mars. Without one, Mars' air pressure will evaporate all the water in your saliva, tears, skin and lungs immediately. Its radiation will also lead to a variety of health problems. So it's safer to send an army of robots and drones outside for you. ... Our researchers are developing robotic explorers for Mars. They could be used to retrieve items left behind by humans or for mundane maintenance or servicing, allowing humans to spend more time on scientific discovery. : CSIRO's Data61
