02.01.2022 What is PEXA? PEXA (Property Exchange Australia) is Australia’s online property exchange network. It assists members such as lawyers, conveyancers and financial institutions to lodge documents with Land Registries and complete financial settlements electronically. PEXA was formed in 2010 to fulfil the Council of Australian Governments’ (COAG) initiative to deliver a single, national e-Conveyancing solution to the Australian property industry. It was originally known as Na...tional e-Conveyancing Development Limited. PEXA is committed to supporting the property industry as it transitions towards a 100% digital conveyancing process that’s fast, safe and efficient. It is expected using PEXA will be Mandatory from July 2019 Accessing PEXA by Infotrack allows users to order Section 32 and Contracts for use with electronic signatures. The orders are then compiled, edited and saved in Leap as .pdf. Electronic signatures Prior to lodging documents for electronic signatures Clients should be notified with a phone call explaining the process. If acceptable to the client, the Law firm using infotrack and a program called DocuSign will download the document to be signed. DocuSign allows for pls sign stickers to be placed on the document. If the client has previously used DocuSign their signature will be recorded and is easily loaded onto the document. If not the client will be directed to their Phone to record the signature. Infotrack will charge $6.95 per document for this service. Infotrack are recommending Cost agreements be signed using this process. Leap Office will soon include a PEXA icon. Infotrack says Firms and their clients should not use the system if they do not feel comfortable using this technology but however insist this is the future. Start small think big.
