We were showing personnel of the School of PostGraduate Studies from the RAAF Base Wagga Wagga through our facilities at Alan Harris McDonald and sharing our passion for celebrating and honouring our loved ones lives when the clock neared 11:00am today on the 11th November, marking Remembrance Day for 2020. Wing Commander Kerry Hollings Warrant Officer - Craig Kennedy and Molly Milli...ngton accompanied by 6 Warrant Officers and 3 Flight Sergeants took stance in our Memorial Garden with 1 minute of silence and the reciting of the Ode to remember those who died or suffered for Australia's cause in all wars and armed conflicts within the Memorial Garden of Alan Harris McDonald. It was a moment unplanned and not rehearsed but a moment that will stay forever in the minds of the team at Alan Harris McDonald. 14.01.2022 Today we celebrated and prayed for the life of a remarkable woman, full of life and love within the beautiful township of Batlow. The Mother of our team member Billy Butz, Hazel was a much loved, social butterfly of her community at the age of 98 years. At one of the most beautiful cemeteries in our Country, overlooking Batlow we were surrounded by charred trees, a clear reminder of the recent bushfires but also the resilience of the amazing Batlow community and the members that make it so special. Hazel Butz was most definitely a member of the community that make the town of Batlow so special. Today we celebrated the life of Hazel Butz and the love both her family and friends had for and that she had for them. Rest In Peace Hazel.

The Public Speaking Competiti...on is an event held annually by our club; aimed at promoting confidence and community participation amongst the youth of our city. Just like many events this year, the 2020 South Wagga Apex Schools Public Speaking Competition will be a little different than previous years because of the current restrictions in place due to COVID-19. We are asking that Primary and Secondary students, of the Riverina who would like to participate in this years competition, prepare a speech of five minutes on any topic they wish. We ask that they deliver their speech via a filmed recording and have it sent back to South Wagga Apex for adjudication before Friday, 25th September 2020.
