17.01.2022 50th Anniversary Grille Badges: As per previous notices every AHOCQ member will receive 1 free badge. Those members who ordered extra have or will receive their free badge plus extras with their shirt orders. Members who have not received their badge and are going to the 50th Anniversary #AustinHealey Owners Club of QLD run next week should make sure to pick up their 50th Anniversary 'Grille Badges' from the run captains. ... The remainder badges will be mailed out in due course. Please note: as mentioned previously, the finish metal on these badges is nickel, not chrome (we couldn't achieve gold chrome!) so if you get them wet, make sure you dry them promptly to avoid corrosion or be prepared to polish!

11.01.2022 Special Announcement ----A Unique Opportunity to Find That Replacement Austin-Healey Part. A large accumulation of used Austin-Healey components has to be cleared from a Brisbane home that is about to be sold. From 1976 to 2002 Carl Stecher operated Sports Car Services an automotive repair shop specialising in British cars, notably Austin-Healeys and MGs. Carl died some years ago and the Hawthorne business premises were cleared with many useful components stored at the fam...ily home. This home is about to be put on the market, so the collection has to go. The address is 17 Morehead Avenue, Norman Park. This Saturday November 14th from 7.00am to 3.30pm. British car enthusiasts are invited to inspect and purchase any parts that they can use. There are engines, gearboxes, many electrical items, carburettors, some body panels and much more. The collection also includes many Ford Cortina/Escort components. Due to current Government restrictions the number of people on the property at any one time must be controlled. This will be organised by the owner of the property Jacob Stecher who will also be available to negotiate prices. See more
11.01.2022 Fantastic day celebrating our Austin Healey Owners Club 50th Anniversary. 40 club members from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast travelled to Woodford for lunch at the Hotel. We pay tribute to our Founding Members, Life Members and committee members. We also wish to honour Donald Healey, his sons and all the people who created our beautiful brute of a sports car.
09.01.2022 Thanks Mike and Yvonne Wade for organising a great day out in the Scenic Rim. Keeping to the country roads we travelled through Marburg, Rosewood, Rosevale, Harrisville and Kalbar to arrive at Lake Moogerah for a picnic lunch with other club members. It was so great to be out in the fresh air with our fantastic Austin Healeys! Thanks Glenda Rabnott for helping out with some photos.
08.01.2022 Amazingly detailed and accurate visualisation of a Bugeye #AustinHealey in the latest X Box Game....wow so realistic! Turn on your sound to hear its throaty 948cc roar!

01.01.2022 Sunshine Coast members et al, met at Yandina early this morning (with the organiser, Murray Browning, in a ..whisper, whisper.Triumph TR4) for a run to the German Bakehouse at Coolum for coffee & a natter before heading next-door to the Sir Henry Royce Foundation Museum where we were given a very informative guided tour of same. The Museum has a decent collection of Rolls Royce engines including a late version Merlin and a number of others with marine and military vehicle ...use. A most interesting exhibit was the all alloy 4-litre, the only all alloy engine Rolls Royce produced and reputedly the only one to be used in a motor car other than a Rolls Royce, namely the Vanden Plas Princess R. (We forgot to inform our host that it was also installed in the Austin Healey 4000 prototype, but that’s another story) A number of our Healey’s were parked in front of the museum with others in the street outside the Bakehouse. It is hard to secure a spot down there on a Cars & Coffee day! Everyone present enjoyed themselves, although some of the ladies disappeared off to the Coolum shops (can’t understand what they wouldn’t have found fascinating about a Merlin aero engine!!) All in all, a great morning that is held on the first Saturday of every month (except, I think, January) Some photos to share.
