06.01.2022 Believe it or not tick season is upon us already! Little Leo is our first tick patient of the season and luckily for him his vigilant owners brought him to see us when they first started noticing some strange behaviours! Leo was becoming wobbly in his hind limbs and was struggling to jump on and off of the furniture, he also lost his voice, all tell tale signs of tick paralysis.... Leo was admitted into hospital and thorough tick searches were performed by multiple staff members, however no tick could be found Given his symptoms the decision was made to treat Leo with Tick Anti Serum, a medication which helps to slowly reverse the symptoms of Tick Paralysis. Leo spent a couple of days in hospital with us and made a remarkable recovery, he was able to return home to his loving family after only 3 days! How gorgeous is his little get well card from his family There is no better time than now to ensure your beloved pets are all up to date with their preventatives, especially tick prevention, as Leo has shown us that the ticks are definitely out and about! If you have any questions about which preventatives we would recommend please do not hesitate to give us a call.
