19.01.2022 I lost my country and everything I had before. And now I cannot remember for sure... The soft of the snow in my country, I cannot remember The feel of the damp air in summer. Sometimes I think I remember The smell of jasmine As I walked down the street. And sometimes autumn With its orange and scarlet leaves Flying in the high Damascus sky. And I am sure I remember My grandmother’s roof-garden, Its vines, its sweet red grapes, The mint she grew in crates for tea. I remember the birds, the doves Of Damascus. I remember How they scattered. I remember Trying to catch them. The Doves of Damascus by Ftoun (14)
19.01.2022 Queensland Government must explain why Indigenous children are less likely to be placed in alternative accommodation. Instead of putting kids behind bars, governments must fund Indigenous-led programs which have better outcomes for children and communities. Last year in Queensland, more than 3,000 kids were detained in police watch houses. Two-thirds were Indigenous. On average, they were detained longer than non-Indigenous children.

17.01.2022 Adam Goodes spoke out about racism when Australia was not ready to hear the ugly truth. Today, he continues standing up for an Australia where we can all live without discrimination. We stand with him. We’re stoked to be partnering with The Australian Dream which chronicles Goodes’ journey and asks the very important question: what does it mean to be Australian? We’re going even further by asking, is it Australian to be locking up kids as young as ten years old? The phras...e ‘Australian Dream’ sums up the laid-back, optimistic way we sell ourselves to the world. But the way we treat kids in the youth justice system, particularly Indigenous kids, lags behind the rest of the world. #TheAustralianDream #AdamGoodes #WalkTogether
