23.01.2022 Year 8 girls researched about the Islamic art, specifically the geometric patterns found in architectural structures, mosaics, textile designs etc. and the highly symbolic use of colour in Islamic art. 20.01.2022 The important role of an artist is to make a difference by inspiring people to think, feel and act. Artists make choices in order to communicate these intentions. Year 7 girls created a painted artwork with a message, using a grid as a formalising element where text helps to communicate the artwork’s meaning. Students considered experimenting with using the surface of different media, scratching into your paint, or adding collage and then painting over.

20.01.2022 Students created a small painting using the dot painting technique. Compositions featured a plan or aerial view of the journey to or from school using Google Maps. Students used built and natural features/structures along their journey as compositional elements in their artworks. Students used a pallet of color that is indicative of indigenous approaches to artmaking.
