21.01.2022 Due to the continuing uncertainty caused by the spread of COVID-19 and the necessity for ongoing lockdowns, capacity and social-distancing restrictions etc., AICD Queensland has made the difficult decision to forgo our upcoming plans to hold the 2021 AICD QLD Ballet Awards in October. We know how disappointed you will be to receive this news, as we had received tremendous interest in registrations; showing now more than ever, that the world needs to dance. The AICD QLD Com...mittee would like to assure you at this time of our unwavering commitment to carry over the awards to 2022 and to continue to innovate and strive towards ways that we can continue to provide opportunities for our young dancers. This has been a very difficult decision for the committee to arrive at, but ultimately, our interests are in the safety of our dancers and their families and the future viability of our artistic endeavours. A small concession now, may go a long way in securing the future of performance and development opportunities for our young dancers. AICD Queensland would like to thank its loyal supporters for their continued faith in our organisation and for their understanding of the difficulties faced with making this decision. Thank you. The candidates that applied were 380 participants (297 girls and 83 boys) from 38 different countries. 69 candidates have been selected after this video selection and 9 candidates were preselected*. There are now 78 selected candidates that will participate in the Prix de Lausanne 2018.
