10.01.2022 SCAM ALERT We have received multiple reports about a scam email claiming to be from the AFP Commissioner. This email is NOT from the AFP despite appearing... to come from the address [email protected]. It invites people to the AFP regarding an ongoing investigation, and prompts readers to open a series of attachments. We would never send emails of this nature and if we did we would have a go at getting the grammar right. If you receive this email, do not open any attachments, do not forward the email and do not respond to the email. Please immediately report the matter via the ACCC Consumer Rights Scamwatch website: https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam

01.01.2022 On Thursday (17 October), our crews joined forces with emergency services to undertake one of our most complex emergency preparedness exercises yet on the rail ...network. In conjunction with Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), Queensland Fire and Emergency Services - QFES, Queensland Government Air and Queensland Health, our crews responded to a simulated train incident along the rugged and remote Kuranda Range. With safety Queensland Rail’s highest priority, the exercise provided a unique opportunity to test our response plans and procedures in the unlikely event of an emergency situation on our network. A massive thanks goes to all the participants involved!
01.01.2022 This is Lockhart River Community in Cape York taken from an SES drone. Cyclone Trevor is currently impacting the area and so far they have lost power and a lot of trees are down but structures are holding up well.
