24.01.2022 Good morning everyone, If anyone is looking for a fun aikido Saturday, next week is the Aikido Goshinkai Mini Seminar taking place at South Tweed Heads. It's f...or everyone, so don't worry if you are only a youngling student. For anyone looking for a ride, Valentino has offered to drive up to 4 people to and from the seminar. Just contact us for that. For the details, please refer to the email below: " Hopefully this email finds everyone safe and well as the aussie bush burns around us. At this stage of the year many of our friends are being challenged by the fires and we as a group can be there to support our communities in whatever way we can. As such and where people can make it this is a reminder that the last of the 2019 AIKIDO GOSHINKAI MINI-SEMINARS hosted by Michael Williams Sensei will take place in two weeks time, on Saturday the 30th November 2019. Everyone is invited to attend and we look forward to as many of you making it as possible. It is also an opportunity to observe and/or participate in the second of two DAN gradings being held this year. The gradings will take place at the end of the afternoon seminar session. Aikido Goshinkai Mini-Seminar Date: Saturday 30th November 2019 AIKIDO GOSHINKAI HDI's and STUDENTS Venue: Aikido Community Dojo - South Tweed Sports Club Session 1: 10.30am - 12.30pm Session 2: 2.00pm - 4.00pm (Including DAN gradings) Cost: Adults $20 per session Students $15 per session As usual all attendees have access to the club bistro for lunch and free parking on the premises. It is an opportunity to participate in the last of the 2019 intensive workshops with the founder and catch up with friends on the mat. 18.01.2022 Hi all, just to fill you all in on what came from the meeting We aren't training at the school any more: Will let you know when we have further updates. The entity of Aikido Harmony Inc will remain active until the meeting on the 25th of January where we will look at our options... Club assets will be stored till this time. The mats will be loaned to aikido goshinkai australia to help new dojos that open. Till such time that we Know what to do with them. Michael trooper has been appointed acting president and Melissa Nguyen has been appointed acting treasurer. It has been my pleasure to teach all you kid's these past few months and I hope you all continue training. 16.01.2022 Hello everyone. Sorry I'm here to announce some less favorable news. Due to a variety of reasons we have decided to disband the club. Due the dramatic changes in our rental contract, we won't be able to support the club in future. Details of the General Meeting regarding this will be at the bottom of this post. We will no longer conduct classes to save money for refunds and other fees associated with the closure. While we are not training at Harmony anymore, we may still tr...ain at the many other Aikido Dojos around Brisbane. For kids, I personally recommend two dojos. I have personally trained both these places and I'm certain our students will get along well. Onami Dojo at Capalaba Kids Classes: Saturday 9:00am-10:30am Adults Classes: Thursday 6:20pm-8:30pm Address: 65 Degen Road, Capalaba This is a fellow Goshinkai club, the same style our club was based upon. They have a great kids class, taught by Sharma Wrightson Sensei. Brisbane Aikikai at Newstead Kids Classes: Wednesday 4:45pm-5:45pm Adults Classes: Everyday - see their website Address: 95 Commercial Rd, Newstead This is a Aikikai style club. We have recently explored aikikai structure in our classes so I believe our students be able to easily adjust. Their kids classes are taught by Gotaro Kitayama Sensei. General Meeting Details: When: 11:00am-12:00pm Saturday 17th November Where: Chatterbox Cafe; Store 27C, Sunnybank Plaza, Cnr Mains Rd & McCullough St, Sunnybank Agenda: Closure and associated paperwork Final Financials Refunds Owing to the school Plans for club assets Where do we wish our assets to go? Any club members are welcome to attend to help the committee discuss these matters.
