16.01.2022 The 12th AYNSW Annual Demonstration is coming up Saturday August 26th from 11.30am. A great chance to see the dojo in action and all levels of aikido from basic to advanced.

11.01.2022 Received yesterday in the mail this certificate for the title of Shihan from the Yoshinkan Honbu dojo. The accompanied announcement was.... "We are pleased to ...announce that AYF has awarded David Rubens Sensei, 7th dan, chief instructor of Meidokan Dojo in the UK, and Darren Friend Sensei, 6th dan, chief instructor of Aikido Yoshinkai NSW in Australia, the title of Shihan of Yoshinkan Aikido. Bearers of this title have acquired an exceptional level of skill and mastery of Yoshinkan Aikido, and dedicated their lives to its diffusion on a local and national level. They recognize the positive impact of Yoshinkan Aikido on the lives of the people within their communities, and are committed to enhancing those lives in years to come. We would like to express our gratitude to David Sensei and Darren Sensei for their unabated dedication to our art. Please join us in congratulating them for this important achievement. " Am feeling both humbled and old, but determined with renewed enthusiasm to promote Yoshinkan Aikido in our patch. Aikido has been a life changing phenomenon for myself. I cannot imagine life without it. I hope that I can do justice to my teachers and continue to pass on what I have been taught and support all those who choose to follow a similar path. Osu!
