25.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong wishes all students a happy new year. Adult training will recommence on Wednesday 20th of January. The training schedule will virtually remain the same as previous year’s except that Thursday evening will be a one hour weapons class starting at 7pm. Aikido Takemusu wiill also start children’s classes after a disrupted 2020. Katrina Palmer will teach Saturday mornings. Class times will be 9.30am - 10.15am . The Saturdays scheduled for term 1 are : January 30th, February 6th , 20th, March 6th , 20th. Please contact Katrina on 0438030070 for any queries and fee structure. 22.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong will hold their first Sunday classes for the 2018 year on March 4th. Class begins at 8 am with a one hour Taijitsu (hand to hand) class followed by a short break then another one hour class practicing Jo (short staff). These classes are open to all students - including new students who may wish to view or participate in the class to gauge your interest in Aikido. 21.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong will have an Embu on the 25th of March at 7pm to celebrate last December’s gradings. Students are encouraged to attend and support their fellow students on receiving their grading certificates. Each Dan rank present on that evening will be teaching a technique of their choice. 20.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong will be attending the Caulfield Dojo on Sunday 2nd of June for gradings. Please arrive at my house no later than 6.15 am to get a ride or carpool with me or meet me at the Caulfield Dojo before 7.30 am. Beginning at 8am the first training session will be Taijitsu (hand to hand) followed by a short break then the second session will be focussed on Jo (staff). We welcome new students beginning their Aikido journey, regular students returning after the Christmas holidays and also to Aikido students who are coming back to training after a longer break. 17.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong held an excellent Embu last Monday evening the 19th of August to celebrate the mid year Aikido Gradings. Training was excellent, certificates were awarded and photos have been posted. Thank you to the students who supported the evening.

15.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong will be attending the Winter school seminar this Sunday morning the 18th of August in Caulfield , Melbourne. The Seminar begins at 8 am and will finish at 1pm, there will be regular breaks in between sessions. Classes will be taken by senior instructors from the Aikido Takemusu group. Various subjects will be covered in Taijitsu including Ushiro Techniques, Jiyu Waza and Kokyu techniques. There will be weapons training in Jo and Ken. 12.01.2022 Today at the dojo, I held the last class for term 2. It has been a wonderfully productive term with all students training very hard, developing new skills and b...uilding upon older ones. Well done to all :) This also marks 1 full year of Kids Aikido Classes! I’d like to thank everyone who has supported the classes throughout the year including; all the students and parents who have worked very hard to attend classes consistently and in a very focused manner, Everyone who has helped spread awareness of the classes, Sam Korn for helping with the workshop that I put on in April, My husband Luke for helping with the web/ business/ admin side of things, Sally Rees for administration and marketing support, and Sensei Simon Rees for all advice, support and faith which has allowed me to run the classes as I choose. I have absolutely loved sharing Aikido with the kids throughout the year and hope to continue for many years to come. 11.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong has a double class scheduled for November 5th commencing at 8 am and concluding at 10.30 am. There will be a 15 minute break between Taijitsu and the Weapons class. 31 no jo kata will be the theme for weapons class this Sunday.

09.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong has now commenced the final month of training for 2020. Training fees are currently waived due to COVID 19 and classes are weapons only. I would like to thank the students who have returned and supported the classes since late October . I hope to see more of our student body in the Dojo when they can. 09.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong is rescheduling the upcoming Sunday morning training from the from the 1st of April to the 8th April to avoid clashing with Easter. Training will begin at 8 am for a one hour Taijitsu class followed by an hour of Weapons training, there will be a short break in between. This training session will have a grading focus and those students that are eligble for gradings will be notified in the next week. There is training this Easter Monday evening as per usual. 09.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong has noted the Premier’s restriction measures outlined below. As stated from June 21st indoor sports and gymnasiums will be able to operate on a basis where social distancing, hygiene and contact tracing measures are in place. I intend to have Aiki weapons classes available for those who are interested and the above social distancing, hygiene and contact tracing measures will be in place. Class schedule will be the same as previous years and is detailed on the website if you are unsure. 08.01.2022 The time and format of Thursday night classes will be changing. From Thursday 26th April the class will commence at 7:00 pm and finish at 8:30 pm. The class content will now mirror that of Monday and Wednesday classes and include both hand to hand and weapon techniques.

08.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong has taken note of the state government new restrictions coming into force on Wednesday evening at midnight. From that evening , classes will cease until we move back out of stage 3 restrictions. I would like to thank the students who have supported the dojo for the last 2 months (approx) . Our training has been altered to a weapons only structure but it has been both rewarding and the learnings have been stimulating and insightful. I am sure when we as a community get on top of suppressing this virus our dojo will once again be up and running. The day was a great success and featured training practices and insights from Sensei Barry Knight the first Australian student to train at the Iwama Dojo under Mohiro Saito.

At this stage indoor sporting facilities are not to reopen, hopefully this will change in November. There is an opportunity for an outdoor class if students are interested. 02.01.2022 Aikido Takemusu Geelong has now finished training for the 2020 year. I would like to thank all the students from the dojo who supported the classes through a trying year. The training recommences on the 20th of January 2021 and the fee structure is still the same from 2020 with no increases.
