25.01.2022 Ordered a test print of my logo on a t-shirt through Redbubble. Pretty happy with it!

25.01.2022 One of my favourite portraits I've done as part of my Climate for Change fundraiser. I'll share a few of my favourites here. I have done around 30 so far, and am still completing more! I had so many generous donors.... This is an abstract/ minimal portrait of a beautiful dancer friend of mine, Farah. #photooftheday #artistsoninsta #art #melbourneartist #handmadeinmelbourne #design #flowers #abstractart #abstract #portrait #abstractportrait

25.01.2022 Another favourite portrait. Emily and Petunia! Emily is one of my best clients, with a few of my pieces hanging in her home! . . . .... . . . #portrait #artoftheday #paintingoftheday #petportrait #bestclient #acrylicpainting See more

24.01.2022 My self portrait I painted at 15. Tully the dog is a little confused by it! I found this at my Dad's house while visiting him in Perth. I think this was the first oil painting I did, in year 11 art. ... I recently learnt of my year 11 art teacher's unfortunate death at a young age. I remember her guiding me through this painting, and introducing me to artists she thought I would like - Tucker, Monet, Degas, Kahlo, Waterhouse...all of which I am still greatly influenced by today. It got me thinking about the role of an art teacher, and their significance. My teacher encouraged a sense of exploration in me, a confidence to attempt the difficult, an enjoyment in getting my hands dirty. She used to say that she couldn't draw, but that didn't matter. She fostered our internal desire to create, express ourselves and discover new things. I think is the key to teaching art and setting up artists for life. I'm sad that I didn't get to show her the artist I've become now, and let her know that she played an important part in my story.

24.01.2022 My little dip back into oil paints. I haven't used them since highschool. Changing things up with a new medium is a good way to feel re-inspired I find. I love the textue and opacity of oil paints. They dry very slowly, so you can (and must) take your time with a painting. . .... . . . . . #oilpainting #abstractflorals #paintingoftheday #artexplorer #intuitivepainting #meditativepainting See more

22.01.2022 This fluffy girl claimed my All Good Things floor pillow as her own! She barely leaves it now! Check out this print and more in my Redbubble shop. https://www.redbubble.com/people/ailishdesign/explore

22.01.2022 Poster design for Bottoms Up! Burlesque and Pole School

19.01.2022 Now in miniature!

19.01.2022 My most popular work of the year was this one - All Good Things. I painted this at the end of Melbourne's strict lockdown, sort of as a mindful meditation with my hands. 'All good things' is a reminder to myself of what to dwell on, and what to hope for.... I'm very proud that this piece has been printed on bags, clothes and cushions that are now in people's homes or waiting to be gifted tomorrow! The original is also being hand delivered to a lovely ndw owner in Perth in February. I'm currently working on another piece in this style, that I had to get out of my had and onto the canvas before the end of the year! Thank you for all the love and support you have given me this year as I've delved further into my art. Wishing all good things to you all. #paintingoftheday #allgoodthings #melbourne #thankyou #bestpiece #artist #artistsofinstagram #madeinmelbourne

18.01.2022 Identity design for Sly Rat Theatre's Shakespeare on the Maribyrnong River.

18.01.2022 Fun hand-written poster for Luna Eclipse.

16.01.2022 Thanks for all the lovely feedback on my latest work! These two pieces have now sold, and will be off to their new homes soon! I wonder what their new homes will look like!? Sending off my artwork is bittersweet - I imagine somewhat like your kids moving out to go to uni. I'm so proud of them and happy for them, but will miss them dearly! ... Well, now there's more space for me to make more art! New ideas are brewing, and I'm looking forward to getting painting again soon. (NB I don't own the original images used to create these mock ups.)

15.01.2022 Super happy with how this 2x3m weatherproof banner turned out for Sly Rat Theatre. Banners are great for promoting your business or event to the locals.

14.01.2022 Back in my home studio and making a happy mess. The very beginnings of a new piece. 40mins condensed to 1!

13.01.2022 Poster design and illustration for Sydney Burlesque Gala

12.01.2022 I'm looking forward to this logo being out in the big wide world with the re-opening of Wick Studios soon. The logo is based around two converging sound waves, that come together to create a 'W', as well as being a reference to the collaborative artistic processes that The Wick provides a hub for. The logo will soon be seen on signage, road cases, business cards and more!

12.01.2022 A fun piece I did for Always Working Artists and their new show. Collaboration with Nelli Scarlet Photography

11.01.2022 I'm proud to be working with Daniel on the branding of GO2CUP, his new sustainable re-usable cup business. GO2CUP is just kicking off in Perth, and is looking like it's going to be a big hit!

11.01.2022 My design being installed as a sign! Come and see it IRL at the opening party for Wick Studios this Sunday in Brunswick. There will also be some great bands playing, and food and drink flowing!

10.01.2022 Working on an album design. Crafting mock ups! (Yes, I am wearing ugg boots in my home office!)

09.01.2022 Nude in Mauve. Oil on canvas board. I'm thinking of making a series of these little colourful nudes. One of my plans for my art this year is to develop series of works to really explore an idea and develop a cohesive collection.... I love painting in this style. It's unconciously inspired by impressionist painters like Gaugin, Van Gogh, Monet and Degas. . . . . . . . . #paintingoftheday #melbourneartist #art #monet #degas #inspired #oilpaint #portrait #figurestudy

08.01.2022 Mocking up some composite art for a project, with the help of photos taken by Nelli Scarlet Photography on a very windy day in Melbourne! This is the result of me jumping in for a test shot!
