22.01.2022 Our recent report card on the levels of physical activity by children is a little alarming. Australian teens do close to the least physical activity in the world, according to new study. Australia is among the worst, ranked 140 out of the 146 countries studied. The WHO guidelines for this age group recommend a minimum of one hour of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day. Nearly 90 per cent of Australian children aged 11 to 17 are not meeting current recommendations ...on daily physical activity, according to an international study by researchers at the World Health Organization. Action is needed in Australia and all other countries to improve physical activity levels and particularly among teenage girls. One of the key components to committing to behaviour change and physical activity is to find something you enjoy doing. It seems like the Physie girls have found exactly that. #movementmatters #preventionbeforecure See more

16.01.2022 Exercise can be a great way to reduce aches and pains during pregnancy, as well as provide better outcomes post birth for you and your baby. If you are not a regular exerciser or need more guidance for technique and supervision then seeking the friendly support of an exercise physiologist may be the best solution! #exerciseandpregnancy #mumsandbubs #yourhealthteam #pregnancy

16.01.2022 Happy Birthday to this superstar today. Wishing you a great day with the family today Ned and an amazing year ahead

15.01.2022 "Treat exercise like any other important appointment that you wouldn’t cancel. I put kitesurfing or tennis into my diary in the same way as I do board meetings and often wear the same outfits for both!" Great article from Richard Branson about how he fits in his daily activity, even when travelling.

14.01.2022 With still a few days of Mo-vember left, we have raised over a $1000 for men's health. (I suspect a few mo's will be well and truly discarded on 1st Dec!!) Great effort team. Still time to donate to this worthy cause before the razors come out of the bathroom cabinet

12.01.2022 Movember funded research program 'Interval Gap 4 Trial' is showing exciting results in using targeted exercise as medicine as part of the treatment for prostate cancer. Take a listen to On Drive with Geoff Hutchison as he talks to study co-lead Professor Robert Newton and participant Mike to explain some of the interim results the study is seeing. #yourhealthteam #movemberaustralia #exerciseismedicine

11.01.2022 Just a mid feasting reminder from Exercise Right What are you going to do with the extra head space now you're not using it for self recrimination? Be present with your loved ones and yourself instead? That's a great plan, I like the way you think

10.01.2022 There's been some definite mo-gress happening this week, check out our Movember page via the link. Testicular cancer has a 95% survival rate. But that’s of no comfort to the 1 man in 20 who doesn’t make it. IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS. SO WE’RE TAKING ACTION.... #movemberaustralia #nationalmensday2019 #yourhealthteam See more

08.01.2022 "Research had shown exercise improved the cardiovascular system, which is intricately linked with the central nervous system, brain, and spinal cord. Anything that improves your vascular system is going to improve your neurological health too" Great article on why we are so passionate about exercise for older Australian's. #yourhealthteam #livestrong

07.01.2022 Happy Birthday to this superstar today. Wishing you a great day with the family today Ned and an amazing year ahead

07.01.2022 Robert Newton is a great proponent of exercise as medicine and in 2020 is Western Australia’s Scientist of the Year. The latest focus is on tailor-made exercise routines for particular ailments. Now scientists are looking for the chemical basis of the effects. How does exercise suppress some cancer tumours? How does exercise support radiation therapy? The effects are there, now we need to understand how they work. Call the office on 8331 1557 and book a time to speak with our Exercise Physiology team about ways an exercise prescription can help you.
