First we sort it and clean it, and then we boil it with merrepen. We sort out the dry berries which give you a light pink colour, and then the ripe ones we squeeze into the water and boil it with the fibre and it makes purple. Doing the meditations helps us to relax," Uti Kulintjaku project participant, Theresa Nipper In 2019 Smiling Mind and NPY Women’s Council Ngangkari initiative; Uti Kulintjaku worked together to develop the first ever meditations in Pitjantjatjata and Ngaanyatjarra with the aim of increasing wellbeing and mental health in remote communities. The meditations were made available on the Smiling Mind app. The partnership is now set to grow with the support from the Envato Foundation who will fund the development of a series of new resources to support student learning, and provide teachers with additional trauma-informed mindfulness training in the NPY Lands.
