25.01.2022 Allison, Brendan & Kristin spent the weekend at a breast feeding conference amongst a group of extremely skilled & experienced osteopaths. Lectures included embryology, a presentation on all of the latest research, lectures & practical sessions focused on the osteopathic care of infants who are having issues with breastfeeding. 19.01.2022 We love listening to Rhea Dempsey talk, this time teamed up with midwifery acedemic Elizabeth Newnham discussing all things epidurals. There was an amazing turn out including midwives, doulas, obstetricians, parents to be, researchers, osteopaths etc. The overriding takeaway message for us was how important it is for women to be supported, empowered and informed in their choices. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience & for the photo Rhea Dempsey @rheadempsey_birthingwisdom proceeds from the event went to Birth for Humankind #birth #epidural #melbourne #bentleigh #osteopathy #osteo #pregnancy

18.01.2022 Meet Brendan Atkin (Osteopath), who will be presenting at the upcoming Osteopathic Approach to Infant Feeding program. Brendan holds a post-graduate diploma in ...Paediatric Osteopathy from the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC) in London. During his time at the OCC, Brendan was fortunate to spend time in the London osteopathic clinics and at two North London hospital's neonatal wards, assessing and treating babies from high dependency to lower risk, under the guidance of some of the most preeminent osteopaths in Europe. Brendan found that assisting osteopathically with breastfeeding became a focused passion throughout this time because of the fragility of the breastfeeding dynamic, and how transformative it can be for the baby, the mother, the entire family and extended network if successful. On his continual search for learning, Brendan has completed a myriad of post-graduate courses and attended paediatric conferences around the world. Brendan has also completed a two-year post-graduate certificate in tertiary education, formalising his passion for teaching and sharing knowledge, whilst remaining true to the original osteopathic principles and philosophies. Brendan is a regular part of the teaching faculty of the SCTF of ANZ, teaches obstetrics and paediatrics at Victoria University, and is co-director at Aim Osteopathy, a clinic with a sole focus on paediatrics and women's health, with breastfeeding difficulties forming a large percentage of patients presenting.

18.01.2022 We love getting new books! Especially this one, Rhea Dempsey from @rheadempsey_birthingwisdom has put years of experience and time into writing this book, we cant wait to read it!

18.01.2022 we had really nice belated Christmas catch up tonight at @ricepaprscrs & @girlsandboysfitzroy , we are so lucky to have such a fun, talented and big hearted crew here with us at Aim Osteo, so grateful - despite our happy faces we feel very heavy hearted by the huge amount of suffering in Australia currently and also inspired by the generosity and human spirit as we all try to stick together to support those in need #osteopathy #osteo #2020

17.01.2022 We want everyone to know that while we are not available for hands on treatment we are only a phone call or email away for any help or advice we might be able to give. We have worked in the last two weeks with only one osteopath to see only those in desperate need, but we feel its time now to sadly pause physical treatment to support our doctors and nurses and our loved ones by isolating to help to reduce the spread. We are investigating other ways we may be able to sup...port you for more complex advice via Telehealth, well keep you posted Most importantly stay well, please reach out because we would love to hear from you and we cant wait to resume physical treatment when were back THANK YOU #inthistogether #stayhome See more

10.01.2022 Associate Professor Brian Freeman is running a series of lectures via the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation ANZ in Embryology - Kristin, Brendan & Allison never miss an opportunity to listen to him speak. He brings a huge wealth of knowledge & is incredibly inspiring. This is a photo of a group of the SCTF teaching faculty with Associate Professor Freeman last weekend

10.01.2022 Meet Allison Atkin faculty member and experienced Osteopath with a special interest in treating children. Allison sees mothers and babies with breast feeding ...difficulties every day in a clinic co-founded by her and her husband dedicated predominately to paediatric and pregnant patients. She shares the same passion for osteopathy as so many of her peers and she describes that nothing makes her happier than seeing osteopathic treatment help infants to feed more comfortably and efficiently with less secondary effects of poor feeding mechanics. Allison is excited about achieving changes which may not be as possible to achieve in older children or adults, hopeful that it will make that childs life easier in the future. She thinks it is important to have as many osteopaths as possible experienced in this area considering the far reaching effects it can have for both mother and baby. She has a formal two year diploma in Paediatric osteopathy from the London Osteopathic Centre for Children. She describes the supervised hands on learning with patients with wide varieties of complex conditions and visits to treat infants in the NICU of two London hospitals invaluable. Allisons journey as an osteopath has always been with the aim to work with paediatric patients. She attended many student SCTF courses as both a student and student helper before graduating. Following graduation she attended multiple courses with the SCTF & ARCOM in Australia & New Zealand, Sutherland cranial college in the UK, The Promise (legacy to Viola Frymann San Diego), Biodynamic osteopathic courses in the USA, multiple paediatric conferences in London and also Montreal. Allison continues to enjoy attending courses around the world. I feel very lucky to be a part of the SCTF teaching faculty and am constantly learning and inspired by courses both as faculty and as a student. The SCTF carries the legacy of founding osteopaths and I am very grateful to the many people who volunteer their time behind the scenes to keep this not for profit organisation running and therefore maintains and develops these skills for future generations of osteopaths.
