23.01.2022 Looking for a photographer for a wedding, publication or perhaps a commercial project? You can search the AIPP directory - at https://www.aipp.com.au - for the talent, regardless of where you are in Australia. They’re a pretty good bunch if we say so ourselves ;) Oh, and let’s not forget we’ve got our own network of video peeps too!... : @studiomephotography

19.01.2022 Most working days on assignment for Gavin Jowitt, a leading Sydney-based commercial photographer, begin early. When he’s working on location, quite often he’s o...ut on the road by 4.30am, preferring to be on site before sunrise. If the work is further afield, way out west in NSW or interstate, he will travel the day before. Jowitt quips that he could take it easy and laze about in the mornings, but that would not put food on the family table. #procommercial

15.01.2022 I had to do something different to survive, says Lisa. I was depressed. I was grieving. I hadn’t coped properly with everything that happened. I wasn’t sure... what to do next, but I knew I couldn’t do the same thing anymore. The only way to move forward was to move away from what I’d done in the past. Saad called her clients and told them she was making a change. In the process, she let go of about 90 percent of her market base, including some people she’d worked with for many years. It was a bold move, but it allowed her some peace to consider her next steps. I think you have to stop the noise, stop everything, for the next inspiration to come, says Lisa. Otherwise you won’t hear it.

09.01.2022 Obviously, there’s a duty of care everyone needs to take with their equipment, but even leaving your camera out in full view with the window open is covered. F...or instance, you might be on location and you just put your camera down for a minute to do something else and suddenly your camera has gone. We cover you for this." 08.01.2022 Introducing the new Commercial Chapter Committee! This year, we received so many nominations from members wanting to help grow and enhance the AIPP Commercial Chapter, that we have found a way to include everyone. We now have a 14 person committee with Gavin Jowitt continuing as the committee head, along with the oversight of the new AIPP board member, Louise Bagger, who has responsibility for the Board's Commercial Portfolio. ... All of our members will benefit from the collective knowledge, experience, and commitment of this 15 strong team. Too many cooks spoil the broth you may say... Fear not, we have decided to divide the team into a series of Special Interest Groups (SIGs). Each group will be tasked with meeting a specific objective. The committee is currently working on defining those objectives.
