23.01.2022 Did you know that the AIPP Northern Territory is now the AIPP Top End Chapter? Why the change? The AIPP has modernised its structure to be more inclusive of ALL photographers. We want you to be part of our inspiring and supportive community. So instead of having just one council per state or Territory we now have Chapters. Chapters can be location based, interest based, in-person or online - whatever suits the group. Despite the name the AIPP Top End Chapter is open t...o all Northern Territory AIPP members - or beyond if you want to. If you want to get in contact with us send us a message on Messanger or keep an eye on this page for upcoming events. Interested in AIPP Membership? It starts at just $10 per month and provides all sorts of benefits - check it out here. https://aipp.com.au/join/ Who is AIPP? Photography and video creation are embraced by people across all walks of life. At AIPP we know image-making is about passion, feeling inspired and developing and fostering a talent. It's about finding an audience to share your work. It's a journey to perfect artistic expression, and sometimes it's even about gaining recognition. AIPP is for anyone interested in image-making at any level. Supporting image-makers by connecting them with brands that will foster their creative vision and exposure, AIPP aligns with camera brands, retailers, art galleries, software companies, magazines and other leaders in travel, technology and business. Members of AIPP are provided with a platform that enables them to champion their art and share it with a broad and diverse audience. A large network of photographers and video creators, AIPP also provides opportunities for networking, collaboration and mentoring. From virtual catch-ups, walking tours, workshops and a highly active social media following, there are many ways to stay engaged and feel up-to-date with what's going on in the wider community. For those who want to step out and celebrate their work, AIPP hosts awards across photography and video. These capture the essence of storytelling, technical ability and innovation in these mediums. AIPP is the home of video and photography.

22.01.2022 Our Peter Eastway Kakadu trip is well underway, lots of photographic opportunities, learning and laughs but not a lot of sleep. What’s pretty sure though is that everyone will come back with some fantastic images.

20.01.2022 But wait - there is still one more SLA category to share. Today we wrap up our introductions with our special STORIES category. Have you got a story you want to tell us that stretches across more than one image? If so, this category is for you. Featuring at least two images and up to six images, this Classic category allows photographers to "go deep" on a subject that really speaks to them. In Classic Categories all entries must be derived from a single source file created in-camera. Entrants may edit these files for the purpose of refinement and expression, but can not use any pixels from any other source, other than the original s...ource file. Cloning of minor elements is permitted for retouching purposes but no major elements of the original image may be replicated, rearranged, reversed or mirrored. 16.01.2022 Have you booked yet? Tickets are selling fast so don't wait or you might just be too late PSST - this would be an AWESOME Valentine's Day present Take a three day trip led by international award winning photographer Peter Eastway to the World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park, the Top End’s premier national park. AIPP have partnered with the NT’s very own multi award-winning tour operator, NT Bird Specialists, Australian Birding & Bird Photo Tours and expert birding ...and naturalist guide Luke Paterson, to operate this tour with Peter. Explore and photograph a variety of landscapes from the wetlands to the stone country, see ancient Aboriginal rock art and learn its stories. Experience the park in the season of ‘Yekke’, the cooler (but still slightly humid) season at the end of the rains when the landscape is lush and at its most scenic. This is a bespoke trip designed by the AIPP specifically for photographers, so expect some early mornings so we don’t waste the good light. Trip highlights will include morning and afternoon/evening photographic shoots led by Peter Eastway while experiencing the grandeur of Kakadu, searching for crocodiles at Cahill's Crossing, taking part in a private rock art tour at Ubirr followed by sunset and a private sunrise Yellow Water cruise, learning new skills during a post production workshop and a final photographic shoot around Darwin on our return. Accommodation at Anbinik Kakadu Resort and all meals included. Cost $3300 for AIPP members and $3600 for non-members (but remember general membership is available for just $10 a month so do the maths!)
