25.01.2022 Had 2 aircraft spreading fertiliser on cereals ahead of the coming rain event. We did 100 tonne yesterday and had 30mm rain last night to wash it in. We have some pretty happy clients at the moment. Here we are putting the last few loads on out of a pretty wet airstrip this morning.

25.01.2022 We spread 40 tonne of Urea today ahead of the much anticipated rain event predicted for tomorrow

24.01.2022 Glen gets his endorsement with David Rix in the 504

24.01.2022 No, we havent started spraying with twins! The Macintyre River is currently in flood and some of our airstrips are cut off by road. Each morning we are doing a milk run in the Partenavia to drop off ground crew at the airstrips.

24.01.2022 The latest addition to our crew. Fleur spent the day getting checked out in the 502 and she is now doing her first job in PTQ.

22.01.2022 Finally after 6 months of very dry conditions, we have been getting some rain and the aircraft are going again. Here are loading up Roundup Ready for a cotton crop.

22.01.2022 Washing out at the end of a big day. An unprecedent number of chickpea plantings this year combined with the wet conditions has seen us pretty busy spraying fungicides.

22.01.2022 Some of the crops we work on. Dryland Sorghum north of Goondiwindi. It wasnt doing so well but the rain in February helped it finish well

21.01.2022 The cotton season is well underway. Crops are being irrigated for the first time and here we are applying foliar fertilisers to help boost the plant through the watering. General rain is expected across the region in the next few days and everyone is pretty excited

19.01.2022 Good soaking rain in early February as meant a couple of weeks of busy times. Great after a very slow winter and autumn

16.01.2022 Adam has been with us for a month, and is on a training program in the 502. Today is his first powerline paddock. It looks like he is handling it well.

15.01.2022 Getting PTQ ready for a 150hrly inspection.

14.01.2022 Heading off to work in our newest machine. A 2015 Airtractor 502B. No one wants to be the first to put a scratch on it so I have to fly it till that happens. They rekon that wont take long!!!

13.01.2022 Just booked our tickets to the annual AAAA Ag Pilots Convention. This year it is being held in conjunction with the Kiwi conference in Queenstown New Zealand. We are looking forward to catching up with friends, listening to a great line up of speakers and getting in a bit of skiing. If you are an Ag Pilot in the southern hemisphere this is the place to be! Starts 29th June. www.aerialag.com.au/convention

12.01.2022 Look at that grass. A few months ago that was bare dirt. Now they have to mow the strip. Here we are spraying grasshoppers in a young sorghum crop. They are eating the plant off as it comes out of the ground.

10.01.2022 This week Air Ag hosted two work experience students. Josh and Nicholas spent the week learning how the aerial application industry works and travelling with the ground crews to jobs. They also helped with the mundane jobs such as washing aircraft and trucks!! Thanks for helping us out guys!!

10.01.2022 Winter flying is great with cool weather, great performance and smooth air making for an enjoyable work environment. On the other side the days are short and sometimes you have to wait for the fog to clear!

08.01.2022 A dry old summer again. Great cotton growing weather though and farmers are looking at good yields. Here is Andrew, our new guy, cracking his first 100hrs in the Airtractor. Nice looking crop of late mung beans.

08.01.2022 Our new Ag 2, Glen, getting some easy going on a cotton field.

06.01.2022 Richard showing Glen the ropes in the 502. He's got a bit to do in the Agwagon yet!!

05.01.2022 The cotton growing season has come to an end and the cotton is ready to harvest. To enable a clean pick we need to remove the leaf from the plant. Leaf trash in the cotton sample can cause green stains and can also heat up in the bales and cause fires. We apply a spray that imitates nature by causing the leaf to drop in the same way trees drop their leaves in autumn. Application accuracy is very important here as any rate or tracking errors can cause big losses in cotton quality for our clients.

05.01.2022 See those lines going across the field? This is the result of Roly Poly bushes (...tumbleweeds to you Americans!) rolling along and scattering their seeds as they go. The line is all the new Roly Poly bushes coming up. We just finished spraying this very late Barley crop to dry it down so it can be harvested.

04.01.2022 A great good news story from one of Australia's professional aerial fire fighting companies.

03.01.2022 So Ag Pilots think they drag some stuff around the sky. Check out the junk hanging off this survey aircraft!!

03.01.2022 Some of the crops we work on. Irrigated cotton to the east of Boggabilla. A hot dry year has meant the cotton has performed really well. Irrigators were running out of water but the floods in February gave them the last two irrigations needed to finish off the year.

03.01.2022 Doesnt look like much but that little dish up on the roof means we finally have high speed internet in the office. Finally an end to the data drought after operating on sim cards with limited capacity. Thanks Red Wifi for getting us into the 21st century
