23.01.2022 IS YOUR SOLAR POWER SYSTEM PRODUCING MAXIMUM POWER? With the advancement of solar cell technology over the past few years many home owners are having solar power energy systems installed on the roofs of their property to reduce the ever increasing costs of electricity purchased from the electricity grid power supply. With the very generous government rebates that have been offered in the past and are still ongoing many solar systems have been installed in Sydney and all over... NSW which is great as it can greatly reduce the electricity costs for the home owner. However, over time solar panels loss their efficiency which is stand and not much can be done about this as its the nature of solar cell energy but this is not that much of a concern as the power loss is very gradual and spread over long periods of time. The real issue is having a faulty or defective section of a solar panel or even worse an entire solar panel supplying very limited or no power at all. If this is the case then these defects need to be detected as soon as possible as power being produced will be reduced costing you money in the long term and with early detection the panels should be repaired or replaced under warrantee. Air-Scan can provide drone aerial inspections that can determine whether or not your solar panels are faulty or defective. We use start of the art drones fitted with infrared thermal imaging cameras that can detect hot spots or entire hot areas within the solar panels. We would examine these hot areas to determine is a power producing problem is present. We will supply a report on the findings of our inspection so that any faulty panels could possibly be replaced under warrantee. Please contact AIR-Scan for more details. 22.01.2022 Just have to make sure.....
22.01.2022 We had recently been commissioned to try to locate a sea eagles nest within 180Ha of terrain that included Blackbutt, Blue Gum, Paperbark and swamp forests. To many this project was near imposable and was likened to Finding a Needle in a Hay Stack. For this project we used a DJI M210 RTK drone equipped with a 640 x 512 thermal imaging camera. The work commenced at 10pm and we located the eagles nest within 4 hours. In total we spent 4 nights in the field looking for additional sea eagle nest but no more had been located. This was a great result as only one pair of sea eagles had been seen within the survey area.
21.01.2022 And back home in the same day.
21.01.2022 Out at 3am undertaking thermal imaging of a waste facility to locate areas of underground spontaneous combustion fires created from oxygen and methane mixing and igniting. Had some great results.
20.01.2022 We have just added a M210 RTK to our drone fleet. This drone is equipped with: 1. XT 640 x 512 infrared thermal imaging camera @ 30Hz. 2. X5S Video and photography camera.... 3. Z30 long range camera 4. X4S modified mapping camera. Any two camera combinations can be used together while capturing images.

17.01.2022 The last stage in turning covert for some Government work. Number plates have to go!
15.01.2022 At 3am this morning we had conducted an aerial infrared (IR) thermal imaging survey with one of our commercial drones fitted with a fully stabilized FLIR camera. The aim of the project was to detect escaping methane and or spontaneous combustion underground fires that are created from methane and oxygen mixing together and igniting. For this type of survey we find that drones are far superior to manned aircraft was we have been achieving a Ground Sampling Distance (GSD) of 2....2 cm / pixel or less. Even though at 3am in Sydney the outside ambient air temperature was 17.3 degrees with a 5 knot wind we were still able to detect land fill surfaces areas with up to a 24.8 degree temperature difference form the lowest to highest temp same single image. In total we have collected 994 radiometric images with full useable Metadata embedded within the image. In the image below the there was no evidence what so ever to suspect that there was so much going on underground. From the 5 hectares surveyed approximately 1 hectare had a reasonable amount of underground spontaneous combustion in progress. #landfill #thermalimaging #environmental #infraredphotography See more

02.01.2022 A little warmer than I would have liked to do thermal imaging but we had some great results.
02.01.2022 What a difference cleaning solar hot water panels make. The clean pair now look like and operate as brand new.
