03.01.2022 Coal Power's current efficiency is around 20%. That is, for all the fossil fuel burnt, 20% of that is turned into electricity through steam turbine generation (AECOM Study). PV (Photo Voltaic) is currently around the 20% efficiency curve. So on par with coal at the moment (to a degree). Solar Thermal has major benefits for simple hot water for commercial and residential to reduce electrical consumption for these purposes. Our Solar Thermal range is hitting the 90% efficiency... curve. Something to think about. Evac tubes and Facade collectors producing 180-190degC solutions and parabolic oil absorbers up to 500degC then powering steam electric turbine generators. The maths is out there. PV won't be efficient until version 7, we're on about version 3 and that's in around 20 years. Use your heads and the equations of technology. We won't be at REV7 for PV until around 2050. So we need to think about, Solar Thermal Cooling for HVAC, Solar Thermal electricity using systems like, Prat and Whitney's Bio Regain Cycle systems. We're not ready for PV, and possibly not for the next 15 years. It's a given that the technological knowledge just isn't there. Yes, one day, PV will exceed, surpass and suppress Solar Thermal. But not now. You need to make sure you address all avenues of information and technical specialisation. Send your emails, pick up your phone. Talk to people. Every conversation turns into a lead. Environmental solutions are not just a hippy trip sustainability marketing scheme. We are now at the level where we can give clients free energy, bing cooling, heating or electrify after 3-4 years of initial capital expense.
