23.01.2022 Air Bush Charter airport of the year award goes to Cobar NSW. Avgas and Jet A1 on tap at a good price. A terminal building that is open to GA and free coffee and tea facilities. If you get talking to the groundsman, allow an extra hour for your trip!!

23.01.2022 The HF radio stopped working the other day and had to be repaired. One of the valves had to be replaced. I was astounded that it would have a valve in it and even more astounded that they had spares on the shelf!!! For those of you under 50yo, a valve is what they had before they invented transistors. The transistor that would replace this valve would be about the size of a thumb nail. A HF radio is also an ancient method of long distance communication by bouncing radio waves off the ionosphere, increasingly being replaced by satellite communications. It is still a CASA requirement to carry one for certain operations.

21.01.2022 Goondiwindi local, Nicole, had a visit from her city friends, so she booked them on a local joy flight. Even though it is pretty dry, there was still plenty to show the city slickers and they all had a great time. Want to show your visitors around? Get in touch! www.airbushcharter.com.au

21.01.2022 Heading to Brisbane the other day through a line of storms. It must have been coming down at Oaky because the radar and the VOR both failed. As you can see I was giving it a wide berth! I am a big fan of Avplan which is great for quoting on jobs, assisting with flight planning and W&B calculations, and situational awareness.

21.01.2022 Nappa Merrie airstrip, on the Qld SA border. A group of graziers fly in to inspect the property after the Cooper Creek flood recedes. Even though the property is still in the depths of a drought, the runoff from the good rainfall in the gulf country has brought some relief to this area with plenty of flooded channel country now sprouting good feed.

20.01.2022 Anyone interested in a great little twin for training, charter, scenic flights or as a safe reliable personal runabout cannot go passed a Partenavia!. Passengers love it's high wing and great visibility and it is easy to get in and out of. No climbing on wings or over seat backs. I have run this on charter for the last 6 years and it has been a popular and reliable, and economical machine. The high props mean it is great on dirt and has good bush strip capability. A bit like ...a 2 engine C206 Because it has been in charter, everything has been maintained to a high standard and everything works. The engines have 1200 hrs to run and calendar doesnt run out until 2025. Anyone interested, I can send more photos and more detailed specs. It does 145kts TAS and burns 70-80Lph fuel depending on how far you push the levers forward. It will carry 4 big passengers with bags See more

20.01.2022 A busy day at Archerfield today! Not really. They were using the Jet Base hangar for a big event tonight and all the jets got put out on the tarmac.

20.01.2022 Fantastic 5 day outback tour just completed. Goondiwindi - Thargomindah - Dig Tree - Birdsville - Lake Eyre - Arkaroola - White Cliffs and Bourke. 4000km travelled in comfort but still able to experience the harshness and beauty of the Australian outback.

19.01.2022 A big week for the Partenavia! .... 3 executives, 4 days, 5 meetings all across outback Queensland! 3000km covered and all back in Brisbane for the Easter break. When you want to make the most of your time, go by air. Here we are dropping off one of the guys at his front door just north of Mitchell on the way back to Brisbane

16.01.2022 Lightning Ridge is an opal mining town about an hours flight west of Goondiwindi. It is a great place to spend a day or a weekend. Here we visit the Chamber of the Black Hand, a played out opal mine situated 20m underground. When the owner couldnt find any opals, he started carving in the soft rock. 15 years later he has hundreds of carvings and a great tourist attraction. Air Bush Charter can arrange trips to many great outback destinations for you or your overseas visitors.

13.01.2022 Dropped into the historic Jimbour Station west of Dalby Qld. The heritage listed homestead and little church are popular for weddings. There was one in progress while I waited for my passenger.

11.01.2022 The things you see at airports. This is a giant inflatable electromagnetic survey ring. It hangs under a helicopter and can penetrate up to 400m under the earth surface! It weighs 400kg and is slung under a Squirrel B3. A big generator is also carried in the helicopter to power the magnet. We are at Menindee in western NSW

10.01.2022 The thing about charter flying is you get to do a lot of waiting...but not necessarily in the most exciting parts of the world! But they are exciting for someone. This farm manager regularly tours his various properties throughout New South Wales. This was a particularly dry time about 18months ago.

08.01.2022 6am Sunday morning, heading for Rockhampton. My passengers have horses competing in the Paradise Lagoons Campdraft and want to watch the finals events.

07.01.2022 Here is the new addition to the fleet. This Piper Navajo 325 cruises at 350kph and can carry up to 6 passengers in airconditioned comfort. From Goondiwindi we can have you in Brisbane in under an hour. People who value their time go by air!

06.01.2022 Clients who get me to fly them to Brisbane for the day are swapping 9 hours of driving for 2.5 hours of flying. They arrive in town refreshed and ready for business and they get home the same night. Here we are parked in front of the newly refurbished art deco terminal building at Archerfield Airport which is only a 20minute taxi ride from the CBD.

06.01.2022 6am Broken Hill. Waiting for passengers. 4 stops and meetings for my client today across about 1000km. 3 hrs flying instead of 10hrs in the car. People who value their time go by air!

03.01.2022 The Goondiwindi Preschool group came on an excursion to the airport the other day. They all got to sit in the planes and hear how they worked. I got this neat thank you card from them.

02.01.2022 Just got back from our third outback trip this season. Marg, our experienced guide came along to show us the best places to visit. We have seen Bilbys, checked the night sky out with a huge telescope, had a beer in the Birdsville pub, seen the sun set from a sand dune, flown over beautiful lake Eyre, seen the Maree Man, stayed in an underground motel, and toured an opal mine. We have covered 3500km and done it all in 6 days in our luxurious twin engined aircraft. Want to know more.? Visit www.airbushcharter.com.au

01.01.2022 The Navajo on an airstrip in far western Queensland. David and Andrew are checking cattle and feed conditions on one of their pastoral holdings. It usually takes 10 hrs of driving to get out here but today they did the 800k trip in under 3 hrs. We also had plenty of room in the back to bring some much appreciated luxuries for the station staff! People who value their time go by air!
