16.01.2022 WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT!! We are very pleased to share that Airdale PS has been named as one of the top 55 schools in the state for our outstanding achievements in this year's Premier's Reading Challenge. This is a HUGE achievement and we are very proud of all our students. ... On Friday, Mr Geoff Brock MP visited our school to present students with their certificates and medals and then we celebrated with some fun and games (and an impromptu dance party) in the Library. Thank you to all staff and students for their support and a huge thank you to Mrs P. for inspiring and encouraging our students to keep persisting. **Students individual photos with Mr. Brock will follow in a separate post.

04.01.2022 School Holiday activities at the Port Pirie Regional Library

01.01.2022 On Monday, the Year 3/4s had a visit from Red Cross to discuss natural disasters and emergencies and what we can do to prepare for these events. Each student was given a pillow case to decorate and take home, to start their own emergency kit. During Hurricane Katrina, students of a local university used pillowcases to carry their cherished and basic possessions while evacuating their campus. Upon hearing this, Red Cross staff developed the concept of using a pillowcase as a...n emergency kit. The Year 3/4s discussed the difference between things we would want to take compared to things we would need to take. We have learnt so much and are very grateful for the Red Cross for coming and running the program with us. See more
