18.01.2022 Good morning Gove get ready for an exciting update! Firstly, thank you to everyone for your patience. With the unexpected and unprecedented situation regarding the Covid-19 outbreak, social distancing/ isolating and travel restrictions, things have not gone quite to plan this year, and as you are aware, we had to make the tough call to postpone this year’s Airnorth Ladies Fishing Competition. This was met with much positivity and understanding from almost everyone impacted. W...hat an amazing community we have here in Gove! After much discussion the Nhulunbuy Regional Sports Fishing Club is happy to announce that a new date has been officially set for the Ladies comp. There were many factors to be considered when choosing the new date for the competition. The easing of travel restrictions/biosecurity limitations, the weather specifically the easing of the high winds, tide times, School holidays, other competitions the NRSFC have scheduled and also the scheduled date of the AFL grand final have all played a part in the decision. The new dates for the #Airnorth ladies competition are: Briefing night: Thursday 22nd of October 2020 Lines in: Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th of October 2020 Presentation night: Friday the 30th of October 2020 (venue to be advised) We understand that these dates will not suit all those who had already entered the competition and had hoped to fish in March. If you will now no longer be able to fish the competition due to the new dates, please email our treasurer at [email protected] to organise a refund, or alternatively, your entry can be rolled over to the 2021 Airnorth Ladies Fishing Classic. The change of dates also means that those who were unable to fish on the originally scheduled dates, may now be available to do so. Entries will be reopened for new teams to join the competition. Entry forms will be available at Gove Tackle & Outdoors in the coming days or via email at [email protected]. As we get back into the swing of things expect to see lots of updates on our Social media pages.
