25.01.2022 Curls on Curls! T. Streptophylla is often referred to as the "Shirley Temple" plant, due to the intense curling of it's leaves. The scientific name "Streptophylla", describes the plant using the Greek words strepto, (meaning twisted) and phylla (meaning leaves). When dehydrated, these leaves will curl into tighter and tighter ringlets. This is quite unique in the Tillandsia world as most plants tend to have the leaf edges curl towards each other when dehydrated, creating a channel which catches the rainwater and moves it towards the center of the plant.
24.01.2022 Tillandsia Ionantha is one of the most attractive of the smaller species. Most of the year it is green, but it will turn a bright Pink when it blooms in order to attract hummingbirds to pollinate it. This plant has narrow, tubular flowers which rise from the foliage and are a deep purple. This plant produces multiple offsets over time to become a large cluster.
24.01.2022 Tillandsia Chiapensis is endemic to Chiapas Mexico. The foliage is wide, velvety and a gorgeous pink / grey colour. T. Chiapensis produces a long, succulent, sometimes branched, inflorescence spike, which has a frosty coating of trichomes on it, giving it the appearance of pink cotton candy! The colour of this gorgeous inflorescence can last up to a year. This inflorescence will produce Astor violet, tubular flowers.
22.01.2022 Tillandsia Ehlersiana looking FROSTY! We sell this species in two sizes currently. 1cm seedlings, and 12-15cm established plants.
22.01.2022 Tillandsia Ionantha 'Vanhyningii' This plant has the most succulent (thick) leaves of any T. Ionantha variety. It is set apart from the other cultivars of this species due to it's caulescent (stem) like growth habit. It's foliage is short, succulent and green / grey with a dense layer of Trichomes on it's surface. Like other T. Ionantha varieties it will blush a bright pink when it blooms in order to attract hummingbirds to pollinate it.

21.01.2022 T. Ionantha ‘Thai Stricta’ This is a new variety we have acquired which was imported from Thailand as T. Ionantha ‘Stricta’. However, it is different in form to the standard Ionantha ‘Stricta’ we know in Australia, so it has been named ‘Thai Stricta’ to avoid confusion of the two plants.
21.01.2022 Tillandsia Ionantha Guatemala This plant is one of the most widely distributed Tillandsia in the world. As with most of the Tillandsia from Guatemala, they are originally collected from the environment and grown at large nurseries for a period of time before being distributed to nurseries around the world.
20.01.2022 Tillandsia Butzii This plant is native to the South of Mexico to Central America. In it's natural habitat it grows at high elevations (1,200-2,100m) where it grows in large masses, epiphytically (attached to trees). This plant is one of the many sort after, pseudo-bulbous Tillandsia varieties. It has long, thin, wisping foliage which is green in colour and speckled with brown. The plant's inflorescence is a long spike, producing rose bracts with purple petaled flowers. We have found this species can be susceptible to base rot if not mounted in a well-ventilated area.
19.01.2022 Tillandsia Dura This plant is a mostly epiphytic species which is endemic to Brazil. The plants foliage can range from green to bronze with dark brown sheaths at the base. These leaves are very rigid, and curling. The plant produces a stunning red inflorescence spike with a series of light mauve flowers opening consecutively along it's sides. The spike is sword like and can be described as similar to that of T. Caulescens. After flowering the plant will quickly form a nice cluster.
18.01.2022 Tillandsia Albida is very rare in it's natural habitat. It is endemic to Mexico and has been reported to be restricted to only a few canyons at elevations of 600-2,000m. Because of this it is said that the species has a high likelihood of becoming extinct in it's natural habitat. T. Albida is a Caulescent plant, which means that it has a stem-like growth pattern. The leaves are silver and rigid, and appear to spiral around the stem. T. Albida develops a striking crimson inflorescence spike which produces cream flowers (quite rare for a Tillandsia).
16.01.2022 Trivia Time: What is the colour of the flower on this species, Tillandsia Glabrior? Tillandsia Glabrior is similar in form and growth habit to that of T. Schiedeana. Some speculate it may even be related to T. Schiedeana. This species is endemic to Mexico, where it grows saxicolous (growing on and among rocks) on steep cliffs and rock walls. The plant's foliage is shorter, thicker, and more rigid than that of T. Schiedeana. #cippa #crazyindoorplantpeople #crazyindoorplantpe...opleaustralia #tillandsia #tillandsias #tillandsialover #tillandsialove #tillandsiatuesday #tillandsiaionantha #tillandsiaxerographica #tillandsiaofinstagram #tillandsiaindonesia #tillandsiasg #tillandsiastreptophylla #tillandsiabulbosa #glabrior #tillandsiaglabrior #trichomesfordays #trichomeslikediamonds #trichomesontrichomes #trichomesmuggeler #trichomesgalore #schiedeana #tilandsiaschiedeana See more

This cultivar was found in a batch of plants imported from Guatemala, and was named after an employee of Collectors Corner, Tanya Maree Ryall.
08.01.2022 Tillandsia Cocoensis This species is similar in appearance to a small T. Tenuifolia, but has been described as its own species. It has dark green, succulent leaves, which stick out at a 90 degree angle from the stem. This species produces a stunning pink inflorescence with white flowers. 08.01.2022 Tillandsia Velutina This plant is native to Guatemala and Chiapas where it grows at altitudes of 1,200 to 2,200m. This species was previously known and sold as Brachycaulos v. Multiflora. The foliage is a grey / green and has a soft velvety feel to it due to the more pronounced trichome layer coating it's surface. This plant grows to around 13cm in size, and will blush a stunning pastel red when coming into bloom. The plant's flowers are purple, tubular, and will emerge from the center of the plant. This plant tends to be easy to grow, being able to take full sun as well as shade. However, we have found it looks it's best when grown in a shaded position.
06.01.2022 Tillandsia Intermedia This species is one of the most interesting Tillandsia as it hangs upside down, and although it produces pups from the base of the plant, it also produces pups from it’s inflorescence! This means that over time it will cascade down into an ever larger and thicker clump.
06.01.2022 Tillandsia Ionantha 'Large Form' As can be insinuated by its name, is a cultivar of the species Ionantha which is larger in size compared to other varieties. T. Ionantha is one of the most attractive and popular of the Tillandsia family due to it's structure, ease of care, and bright colour when in bloom. Most of the year it is green, but it will turn a bright pink / red when it blooms in order to attract hummingbirds to pollinate it. (photo credit @aisenshi19791217)
06.01.2022 Tillandsia Tricolor This species is a cold hardy plant native to Costa Rica, Mexico and Nicaragua. When it is observed in the wild it can be seen growing at altitudes of 1,100m to 2,100m. The leaves change in colour from base to top - starting as brown at the base, the leaves then change to a bright green colour. Interestingly, the transition between the brown and green is made up of many small brown spots. These leaves are rigid in structure and will blush red when in bloom (if kept in high light).

03.01.2022 Tillandsia Califano This plant is a hybrid of parentage T. Baileyi X T. Ionantha. This is a stunning plant growing to 15cm+ and sporting long, curving, frosted leaves. The plant's foliage is green / silver in colour and heavily coated in trichomes. T. Califano like it's parent T.
