24.01.2022 Closeouts are a familiar sight at beaches all over the world. Airwaves are designed to transform the swell t make a peak form approximately fifty metres off the beach and peel to the beach. Please share with your networks and follow us to support our tech and the process to install the next prototype in Bunbury. Stay healthy & safe

24.01.2022 Swell has arrived in Bunbury again. It gets a decent percentage of the the ground swell from down South. This ones a meaty one. Six foot sets with the occasional bigger lump out the back exploding on the sand. Looking forward to putting something in front of one of these swells soon. #closeouts #swells #cityofbunbury

20.01.2022 Enjoying the last bit of winter weed and cold water with Sammie and Bill before the champagne clear days of summer come along. Sand will start to return to a level summer pattern creating ideal conditions for the next Airwave install, in around late January to mid February. Investment is still needed to ensure completion of the second test installation and we are continuing to look for investors for our global business, to ensure success. 17.01.2022 Waveco are now seeking an additional investment partner to complete the manufacture and install of the Airwave 2 prototype. The first installation produced a remarkable list of worlds first achievements along with a huge body of knowledge to take forward with the next installation to ensure absolute success. The first installation has generated a substantial amount of global interest in the Airwave technology. Waveco are offering equity in the company for private sector investment to enable installation at the Back Beach site this year before the winter swells arrive. @ Bunbury, Western Australia

09.01.2022 Just to make comment on all the previous comments on the Airwave project. Thanks for your input, it is all valuable in some way. It has been enjoyable moving my family to Bunbury and catching up with old friends. The first Airwave was a full sized prototype, which took the concept from the drawing board and away from the test ponds and into the ocean proving ground. A massive task for a small West Australian company such as ours. It took a lot of hard work and belief from a ...lot of people to actually bring into reality. It was designed to show us the way forward with the Bunbury project and produced an amazing amount of technical successes including correct placement and placement technique, sand slurry irrigation technologies, transport and logistics as well as local and West Australian skill and technology used and lessons learnt. The first Airwave inflatable surf reef was successfully filled with 100+ metric tonnes of sand and was designed to sit just behind where all the turbulence from storms and large swells cause erosion and large amounts of sand movement. Hence staying just out of the impact zone. Its placement was deliberately out of this impact zone in order to endure winter storms. It did actually create a small peak when an unexpected swell turned up during installation. Unfortunately the internal bladder was not the correct design and this caused a tear due to its movement internally caused by excessive undertow present at the site during install. This bladders size and shape has been changed in the redesign for the second prototype, amongst other subtle changes. The global market for this Australian owned tech is huge, once we have proved its ability to influence the wave environment around it without affecting the sand environment detrimentally. It is designed to be installed in multiple locations along beaches all over the world. The interest we have received from around Australia and the world, for the Airwave invention and the Bunbury area has been widespread and significant for a project in its early stages. To all the the doubters, I would ask you to turn your doubt into support, as being positive about something designed to do positive things, can make the world a more positive place in general. If you would like to contact me directly to add your knowledge to this project, I am always open to new feedback which can only add to my thought process. My aim is to instigate the end goal of an Australian invention supplying more waves in the world for more people to enjoy and increase the level of joy in the world through surfing. Nothing more. Finally, if anyone in the Australian business community, that may have the means and motivation to fund the next phase of the Bunbury project, in return for a good amount of equity in Waveco, please do not hesitate to contact me. Cheers Troy

09.01.2022 The first installation was extremely successful, as we were able to deploy the Airwave accurately to the ocean floor, install nearly all of the 100+ tonne of sand ballast and partially fill the internal air bladders with air. Underwater the dive team said it looked sensational and I dived on it numerous times and it did indeed fill perfectly. The only issue was an internal air bladder design issue and a need to slightly change the external seam structure slightly to spread th...e loads more evenly . As a prototype and test to ascertain how to irrigate sand and air into the Airwave and whether the Airwave would reach the right shape, it was a huge success with so many positives and expertise obtained by the all West Australian team. It even produced a 1 metre high wave peak when we had a small swell come through on the second last day of install and we only had 80% of the bladder full. We are super confident of a successful install with the Airwave 2. Troy Bottegal #cityofbunbury #airwavesurfreef #innovation #innovations #morewavesformorepeople See more

02.01.2022 Closeouts are caused by ocean swell connecting with straight sections of beach. Airwaves are designed to be installed 30-40 metres behind the closeout area, making the swell break in one location further out, therefore starting a wave peel effect earlier. This changes the close out to a peeling wave in both directions.
