24.01.2022 DROOL // All I can say is that I'm living for this bouquet. So much texture, and those earthy tones, ooft! @whoshotthephotographer @@domharaldson

22.01.2022 FULL // an empty room that speaks so much... Like the guitar the groom learnt to play just for the ceremony and played whilst singing as the love of his life walked towards him. Like the blanket made by the groom's mother that lay over the couple's shoulders in a traditional Filipino ritual. ... Like the backpack used the symbolise that no matter how far the couple travels, they will always keep the people present close to their hearts. Like the vows peaking out of the bag that held all the words of love one could possibly say, written so poetically just for each other. An empty room... I think not. @katrina.katipunan @pouredbythecup @andthewolves @berg_generalandrepair @kimoestate See more

16.01.2022 THE TRUTH || a couple of days ago I posted a little game. I gave three statements about myself and asked you to pick which two were true and which one was the lie. These were the statements: 1. To make a ceremony extra personal, I stalked my couples instagram, picked out 3 captions from posts about their relationship, and incorporated them into the ceremony. ... 2. While everyone was madly getting prepped for the ceremony to begin, I "manned" the kitchen, and captured and released all the flies that were zooming around the food. 3. I researched the most well known Star Wars quotes and incorporated them throughout a ceremony. I asked the guests to tally how many they heard and the guest who heard them all won a prize! A lot of you guessed that number 1 was the lie! Well, you underestimated the lengths I will go to personalise my couple's ceremonies. A lot of you also said that you would believe that all three are true.... and you'd be RIGHT!! I know, I know, I was a little trickster! The truth is that I absolutely adore my couples and love to go above and beyond to make their ceremonies special! Yes, toot toot on my horn @meikcollective @kimoestate @katrina.katipunan @pouredbythecup @andthewolves @berg_generalandrepair See more

15.01.2022 TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE || I'm taking inspo from some of my amazing celebrant colleagues and thought we could play a game to see how well you know me. Let's see if you can pick out which two statements are true and which one is the lie! 1. To make a ceremony extra personal, I stalked my couples instagram, picked out 3 captions from posts about their relationship, and incorporated them into the ceremony. 2. While everyone was madly getting prepped for the ceremony t...o begin, I "manned" the kitchen, and captured and released all the flies that were zooming around the food. 3. 13.01.2022 LOOK CLOSER || for day three of @naidocweek, I'd like to share with you a day I'll never forget. In August, I married Wiradjuri man Aaron and Casey at Koorawatha falls. It was profound and moving, especially as we were welcomed with a traditional dance, Welcome to Country, and smoking ceremony. What we didn't realise at the time was that Aaron's ancestor was watching over us. A few weeks after I married him and Casey, Aaron messaged me with this photo, and said "Anc...estors were with us on our elopement day. Can you see the side profile of a bearded man in the waterfall?" Comment your reaction when you see it! Swipe left for a close up. Always was. Always will be. @whoshotthephotographer @bigibila @happystau @dinawans_connection See more

10.01.2022 NAIDOC || in honour of the fist day of NAIDOC week, and the theme Always was, Always will be, I'd like to share the Acknowledgement of Country I gave at the stunningly personal ceremony of Katrina and Donald. Worrimi, Yuuma, Yumalundi, Yirradu Marang. Hello, welcome, and good day in Dahrug, Ngunnawal, and Wiradjuri language. Let us pause for just a moment to absorb what we’re doing here today, in witnessing the incredible union of Katrina and Donald, and take in... this stunning Country where they’ve chosen to bring their marriage into existence today, on Wiradjuri Country. Today some of you have travelled from Sydney in Dharug Country, while others have come from Canberra in Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country where so much culture was shared with neighbouring mobs. We've travelled along the storylines of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, our first carers of Country throughout Australia. Across songlines - the navigational tracks of the land, waterways, and skies, created by spiritual ancestors and giving story to the land... singing the landscape to travel from one area to another. Today you have travelled along rivers and roads till you reached here. From the Nepean river where Donald was born, beside Lake George and the Yass river, past the Murrumbidgee river to here, Gundagai. Rivers and roads, running alongside one another in parallel. Rivers and roads, leading the way, just as Katrina and Donald do for one another. So on behalf of myself, and the Bride and Groom, I’d like to say thank you to our First Nation's Peoples for their ongoing contribution and connection to community, culture, and Country. This land was never surrendered. It has always been and will continue to always be Aborignal land. I extend that respect to any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Isanded Peoples who are here with us today, as well as Elders past, present, and emerging. @meikcollective @kimoestate @katrina.katipunan @pouredbythecup @andthewolves @berg_generalandrepair See more

10.01.2022 THE SUN || This sun is perfect for my band... a brand that is so passionate about inclusion, equality, diversity, and reconciliation. Created by Cahlia from @southco.studio, this sun encapsulates that boho vibe, but also holds so much meaning for my brand values. For instance, reconciliation is very close to my heart, and I love that my primary icon is a sun and a nod to the Aboriginal Flag and gesture of respect to our First Nation's Peoples. When looking closer... at the components that make up the sun, they also speak to my values. The centre of the sun has two halves, one coloured and one transparent. The rays of the sun are also different lengths. These subtle inclusions reference the value of people's diversity. We all come in different colours and sizes, but also different cultures, abilities, genders, races, religions, ages, sexualities, bodies, and other forms of diversity. Together we fit, create a balance, and are all included to make something beautiful. Thank you Cahlia for creating something so reflective of who I am and what my business stands for. @jenny_wu_weddings @jennywuphotography @delaneyidder @ryanidder @nationalarboretumcanberra @southco.studio See more

08.01.2022 WHAT'S IN A NAME// When I first met Dom and James, they were planning a big beautiful wedding with all their friends and family to cheer them on. Then COVID happened, but so did something else... Dom fell pregnant! It was important for her to share the same last name as her soon to be child, so they thought "screw it" let's get married now! So high atop Shepherd's Lookout we stood, overlooking some of Canberra's best views, and a marriage was made. ... @whoshotthephotographer @domhounslow88 @michicweddings See more

07.01.2022 CARDS || My aim is to always create unique and playful ceremonies that truly reflect the couple. If I can pick up a ceremony I’ve written in the past, read it for a new couple and it make sense ... then I’ve failed. As well as sharing the couples story and including anecdotes of their life and relationship throughout the ceremony, I also love to include unique and creative... for lack of a better word, rituals. After Caitlin and Damien shared their legal and per...sonal vows, I explained that yes they were beautiful and heartwarming, but just a little too lovey dovey for mine and the guests liking. In excited anticipation for the awesomeness I knew was about to come, I said I think we can kick this up a notch and get these vows properly corrupt! Face down I fanned out 18 cards from @cardsagainsthumanity and asked the couple to randomly point to a card of their choice. When the couple had chosen their card, I whispered the introduction that I had prepared which they repeated into the microphone. I then showed them the card and they read aloud what it said. The winning cards were: I promise to stop doing this as often as I do: Pooping in a laptop and closing it And I promise we’ll do this next time we get drunk: Getting naked and watching Play School For the full sorry, check out my blog, link in bio.
